Announcement    Thank you for exploring ZambeziTreasures, where all items are hand made by African artists and all proceeds go back to Zimbabwe to support the men and women who make our goods. We put providing a living wage above profit. Your purchase will mean a great deal to someone.

Special thanks to our repeat customers, to those who have left glowing reviews, and to the many customers who have given handmade Zambezi treasures as gifts. We all could use a little Africa in our lives.

Our special for September is 15% off all of our Big 5 items. The term "Big 5" refers to the Cape Buffalo, rhino, lion, leopard and elephant. It was used originally by hunters, but now by anyone who cherishes African big game. If you or anyone on your gift list falls into that category, we have a deal for you!

All orders are carefully packed and shipped in rigid cardboard boxes. We take pride in quick shipment and highly satisfied customers, as well as the fact that the proceeds go back to Zimbabwe (through World Remit) to help our artists make a living wage.

Note from Smart, about the Zambezi River (shown above at Victoria Falls) that is the dominant geographical feature for a large region of Africa. "The original name of the Zambezi river in Tonga [language] is 'Kasambabesi' meaning 'only those who know the river can dare bathe in it (because of the crocs and hippos). When David Livingstone arrived here he was told the name of the river but he forgot and just called it 'Zambesi' which is now 'Zambezi.'"
