I love working in miniature! The majority of my jewelry work is done in the small scale.
Portraiture is some of my favorite subject matter. I love collecting vintage photographs to use as Inspiration.
Once an image has been glaze fired it is fused into the surface of the peace and won't go anywhere!
Depending on the size and complexity of the painting, illustrations can take anywhere from 1hour to 20hours to complete.
Colored underglaze reacts differently than black. Once fired some leave a smooth surface, while others create texture.

Ceramics and Jewelry

Zara Davis is a ceramic artist and summa cum laude graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (BFA 2019). She currently works in Rochester NY as a resident artist for Flower City Arts Center and as a freelance jewelry designer. Over her academic career Zara developed a passion for interpreting and displaying the female form through her work. She uses a combination of three-dimensional form and two dimensional imagery to create pieces that are both starkly beautiful and imbue subtle emotion. Zara’s work is intricate, detail oriented and aimed at showing the sumptuous nature of the body and strength of femininity.
