I get soooo many compliments on my shoes.... I order them on a Friday I had them ship to me less then 2 weeks! This will be my 3rd pair from her and I will definitely keep ordering from her! About

Spreading Creativity One Shoe at a Time

BACKGROUND
I grew up with a very creative mother and she taught me how to paint, sew, draw, cook, and many other DIY projects. We always found ways to be creative with our style of life. I remember growing up we would add this or remove that to make my clothes modest, or go home and copy a necklace we saw at the store that was just too much money. I always ended up liking what my mother made me more than what I saw in the stores. As I got older, I tried more and more of her DIY projects and created my style being artistic like my beautiful mommy.
My mom saw something online one day of a painted pair of Vans and she painted my baby sister some. I was really nervous to try painting shoes because it's so easy to completely mess up, but I pulled out my new burlap TOMS and finally tried it! I painted my first pair of TOMS my junior year in high school and I still wear them today! I absolutely love them and I love them even more now knowing where that one little project has taken me!
When my friends saw what I could do, they always brought their TOMS to me and I would "get crafty on them", as I like to say! But it wasn't until much later, when I painted my sweet room mates TOMS for her birthday, that someone suggested I look at getting a store on Etsy. (I hadn't ever heard of Etsy at that point and I was very curious!) I had painted dozens of TOMS for my friends, but never thought I could sell them. It wasn't until I had a tons of feedback from people on Facebook that I realized this was totally something I could do!
This is the greatest job ever! I absolutely love painting and getting paid for it is just a bonus. I have been running my business for a while now and I still get super excited when I hear my phone ring saying I got a new order.

HOW IT ALL WORKS
This is a suprisingly long process! When you order the TOMS on my store I get a notification on my phone and I order the right size and color through Nordstroms. (Nordstroms ships to me for free!!) I use the TOMS website when I need white canvas TOMS because Nordstroms has been sold out of white TOMS for months.
I usually receive the TOMS in the mail within 3-5 days. After I get the TOMS, depending on how many TOMS I have piling up, I start right away! Because my store is so inconsistent of shoes sold, sometimes I get to paint the shoes I receive within the first week and sometimes I cant get to it until the next week. People ask me if it is hard to juggle my schooling and my business, my response is not at all! Yes, I have to be smart about managing my time and knowing when I can go out with my friends and when I need to stay in the apartment and paint.
After painting and letting the shoes dry, I wrap them up in the box. I always wrap the shoes in tissue paper. I think it helps the costumer remember they bought it from the one and only SweetandSassyStudios! After wrapping up the shoes, I take them to the local packing and shipping place. They know me very well in there and always expect me around noon to come in with a lot of TOMS boxes. The employees are very quick about making labels for me and taping up the boxes.
Now the shoes are painted, wrapped, tapped, and shipped off to your house! The very last step is to email the customer with the tracking number and send a BIG thankyou for shopping with SweetandSassyStudios!

Hey Yall! I am from Denton, Texas and I'll forever be a Texas girl. I'm currently a full time student at BYU-Idaho and I paint my shoes in between studying. I always love being creative and find ways to do so through crafts and DIY projects!
