The hat came very quickly as promised by Jean. I have it in plenty of time for the bachelorette party I have in NOLA where it is for the bride to be. The hat came well and smartly packed -- encased inside of the USPS package that came was a cute hat box. The hat was delicately places among some tissue paper -- keeping the peacock feathers and hat in great condition through shipping. n nThe picture doesn't do justice to the richness of color that the hat has. The clip is large enough and sturdy such that I don't foresee any issue with this holding in someone's hair or falling off. Plus you there is also a band that goes all the way around the head. Beyond satisfied with this purchase, was extremely satisfied with response time to inquiries and quickness of shipping. I would highly recommend doing business and purchasing from to anyone.

A Violet's Blue - Couture Quality , Hand Sewn, Expertly Designed!

A Violets Blue was created out of a passion for color, pattern, recycling, and a desire to make beautiful unique hair adornments.

My earliest wish was to grow up to be an artist. My days were spent inventing new colors, decorating and redecorating my dollhouse, sewing clothes for my dolls, painting everything and anything, and creating murals for my bedroom walls.

As I grew up one of my favorite things to do was to go to the local thrift store and make "something out of nothing". I've always loved the mystique of things that once have had a former life and transforming them into something new and wonderful. I guess that's why I love using vintage fabrics, trims and old jewels for my creations!

As a student of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I reveled in the opportunity to explore textile surface design, fashion and art history. After several years working as a fashion designer for a large corporation I gained valuable business experience as well as a better understanding of the market. As satisfying as this job was I longed to pursue my own designs and dreams.

A Violets Blue has given me the opportunity to utilize all of my loves and talents!
