The artwork is beautiful, and the seller was great, but the way it was shipped seems kind of bizarre. The listing is for a 5.5"x7.5" print, and yet it's a picture of that print on an 81/2"x11 piece of can see where the edges of the print should be, and where I apparently need to cut it myself. I honestly don't understand why the seller wouldn't have cut it. If it's going to be sent this way, it would be easier (and cheaper for the buyer) to sell it as a digital download. Not to mention, it's a bit disingenuous given the fact that the third photo in the listing shows the print cut to the correct size.

Abbie J. Zuidema ~ "Making art is about discovery."

My primary medium is watercolor, pens, and pencil. My subject matter is varied: food, knickers, silverware, Mehndi, and maps. Maps give me the opportunity to explore places and research history; to think about a place I’ve never been before.

A little about my map making process. I choose a location & research online and in books for inspiration. Then I sketch in my moleskin soft cover with a 2B pencil. Those ideas get transferred to tracing paper. Maps are a bit like a puzzle, you have to find all the right pieces & fit them together in just the right way. Once that’s all settled, I get out my light box & trace onto my Fabriano watercolor paper with a Faber Castell India ink pen. From there color is tested. Then watercolor paints are mixed & applied to the map. Voila! A map is born.

The most rewarding aspect of what I do is my connection & collaboration with other people. It feeds and inspires me. My paintings are meant to be enjoyed, to be life enhancing. Art should be accessible to everyone, to be lived with and shared.
