Handcrafting Porcelain into Everyday Beauty

I fell in love with clay in high school, though my family will tell you my love for big artful messes began much earlier. If someone in the family needed tape or scissors, it was best to check with me first. My sisters' desks were strewn with books and papers. Mine was littered with tiny pieces of colored paper, beads, thread--objects waiting for the next creative expression.

I chose a profession in porcelain because I love its earthiness. I start each piece by mixing my own mud, crafting it to realize strong, elegant forms. I use slip trailing, carving and stamping to bring organic beauty to everyday functional objects.

These days my workspace is still a mess. Instead of paper and scissors, you'll find wheels, buckets and sprayers for my studio-made glazes, homemade stamping and carving tools, and lots of white clay. The beauty is in the product, not the shop. ;)

Despite the mess, I hold my work to a very high standard of craftmanship. Each finished piece is food, microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. I turn mud into art so it can be part of your everyday life.

I dream up and craft each piece you see here. In the summer I travel the state of MN selling my pieces at art shows. In the winter I work up new inventory. In between I'm a mom to two small kids.

Frequently asked questions
What if an item breaks during shipping?

I work hard to wrap and package items so they are protected during shipping. These are fragile items, however, and accidents happen. If an item arrives damaged, please contact me for a replacement with the following information:

1. A picture of the damaged, original packaging with the piece still in it.
2. A picture of the damaged piece.

After receiving the pictures I will ship a replacement item. If it was a custom item, I will send a picture of the replacement for your approval before shipping.

Requests for replacements will be refused without the required pictures.

Are the item pictures representations or the actual item?

Both! The picture type is listed in the item description.

For smaller items, such as mugs, small bowls, spoon rests, etc., the pictures are representations. The pictures are selected to accurately display the style, size and shape of the item. The glaze images accurately represent the color options. Of course, each item is handmade and will vary slightly from the item in the representative picture. I can send an image of the actual item before shipping upon request.

For larger unique items, such as serving platters, decorative wall pieces, and all custom orders, the pictures are of the actual item. These are one-of-a-kind pieces that require one-of-a-kind images.

Are shipping prices an estimate or exact?

Shipping prices are estimated based on the size of the purchased item and the buyer's location. Actual shipping costs may be less than the automated estimate. Differences of more than $2 between actual cost and the charged estimate will be refunded to the buyer. Shipping costs will not exceed the estimated costs included in buyer's payment.

*****Return Shipping*****

**RETURN POLICY**
Although I make every effort to represent my pieces accurately, occasionally there may be a reasonable return. I will do my best to satisfy the customer. There are no refunds on custom pieces. I will not refund original shipping costs. Buyer will be responsible for the return shipping costs. Please be sure and use the original packaging to ensure that the pottery will return safely home.

***FREE SHIPPING GUARANTEE***
Free shipping guarantee is for the original shipping label only. If there is a problem with shipping due to buyer error or misinformation, buyer is responsible for any additional or extra shipping costs.
