Where do I begin???? This piece was the TALK of the day!!!! When I say I got more compliments on this than anything else, I am not exaggerating. Jamie did an exquisite job and when we had a slight bump in the road she took the time to give me extensive instructions as I did not have time for her to make the corrections herself. I have recommended this piece to others and hopes she gets many more orders! I had a very soft blush dress and this rose gold shoulder necklace made it PERFECT! I could gush on and on but you will not be disappointed with her work...I promise! Can't wait to work with her in the future!

It is just perfect. I'll upload a photo after the wedding. =) Can't wait to wearing it. Thank you again Jamie. 10*

About

My Story

In college I was desperate to find a part-time job. I searched restaurants to find a job as a waitress, malls to find something in retail and even applied at a gas station. One day, exhausted in my search I followed a Help Wanted sign into a small consignment store with a bridal gown in the window. It was like walking into the rest of my life. That first job working as a Bridal Gown Consultant defined who I am, and changed my direction forever. Over the next decade I would work in many different boutiques at all different price points. I’ve put brides into nameless thrift store gowns and Vera herself.
It was over a decade ago that I put my first gown on my first bride, and during the years since my life has changed dramatically: Marriage to a wonderful man, three beautiful little girls and hundreds of brides. I wonder all the time about my brides and what has become of their lives. It’s not just a dress: it’s a feeling, a memory and a photograph that someday my brides will share with their little girls. This is important stuff.

In college I knew almost instantly that someday I would own my own bridal boutique. Well, life sometimes gets in the way of those dreams and family and kids have a way of delaying some of our aspirations. The thought of my own shop was the furthest thing from my mind while I was a stay at home mom to my two little girls (Abigail and Grace) and desperately wanting a creative outlet and portal back into the bridal universe. One day I got a phone call from my very best friend of (almost!) 25 years. She reminded me of when I made all of the accessories for my own wedding, and suggested Etsy. I had already developed a small Etsy shop selling vintage items that caught my eye in thrift stores around the Washington DC area, and while I enjoyed the hunt for unique things it wasn’t the perfect fit. Her phone call was like lightening striking, and I woke up the next morning and immediately got to work on sample pieces.
I first knew that I was a designer when supplies, materials, and new designs were all that I could think of, and suddenly this “somewhat” experiment became something that all I wanted to do was grow. My years in the gown industry taught me that all brides really want is to feel special on their very special day, and sometimes that $5000 (or more!) gown isn’t the piece that will make her feel that way, but a simple accessory might just do the trick. Each piece I design is unique and I never create the same piece twice.
This wonderful site is overflowing with amazing goods from amazingly talented people, and each time a bride chooses one of my designs it truly flatters me. To think that something that I’ve created with my own hands will be photographed while her mother ties it’s ribbon, or will make that “not-so-perfect” dress spectacular is a seriously awesome feeling that often keeps me hunched over my work table late into the night. In June 2015 we welcomed our third little girl (Mae) and life got a little crazier but I am loving every.single.minute. My work is constantly interrupted by story time requests and tea parties, but I wouldn't change a thing. I truly love what I do.
