Finding My Voice Through Pictures

It's hard for me to find the words to describe my art... I never considered myself to be an "artist". An artist to me was someone that you would find in art galleries or in books.

Growing up I was always very shy...now realizing that I'm an introvert in every sense of the word. Drawing for me has always been my *safe * place, so much easier to feel than to actually tell someone what was going on inside. It was never a thought that my little sketches could go anywhere outside of my own journals. There were a lot of years here & there that would go by without even picking up a pencil.

It all changed for me when my dad passed away in 2010, this is when my passion for art was really awakened. He was my kindred spirit. I didn't always feel this way, but something happens to you when you grow up and reflect on all that you are and where you've come from.

So with no "real" plans to become an artist I'm afraid I have no impressive art schools to go on about, my only resume I have to offer is the art you see here. Although I'm not sure that you can *teach* feelings, you see, so much emotion & feeling goes into each piece that I create. There's nothing I love more than staring at a blank sheet of paper wondering what perhaps will come to life next. I usually don't have an "intention" when I start a piece... my passion & imagination are usually my only references.

So it's these passions…. the light inside that drives my pencil. When I look at my daughter it's not her beautiful features, but her precious & pure spirit that I *see* when I look at her.... this is what transpires in my art......

Art was always so much more than a hobby for me, but it was through my little ones that I found the clarity. They taught me that this is what I was meant to do & to never stop reaching for the stars.

Additional policies and FAQs
GICLEE Print SIZING ~ Please note the size you select is the approximate size of the image. There is a one inch border surrounding the image on any size you choose. This is to ensure that the true size of artwork is represented. Therefore making the actual size of the piece slightly larger. My prints are intended to be framed matted.

Most sizes have to be special ordered. You will however have your prints shipped within 5 to 7 business days after purchase. You will receive a message from me the moment your order is in the mail. If you are in the states I will also provide a tracking number as well.

~Commissioned artwork~

The duration of time that it takes a custom piece to be created is normally within 4 to 8 weeks. However if you need a piece sooner please let me know, I'll be more than happy to work with you. I will be in touch throughout the process, providing updates of your art to ensure you are pleased with the work in progress.

My original art is sold unframed & I do not offer framing.

Reach out if you have any questions at all ~ I will return your message within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions
Is your portrait hand drawn from a photo

Yes, all of my original art is entirely hand drawn with no digital enhancements whatsoever.

Can you create a portrait from multiple photographs or images.

Yes, I can incorporate any photos that you have to merge into one portrait.

For example you may have a photo of your dad who might have past, since having a baby. And you wish you had an image of your dad with the grandbaby he never met...

I can draw your dad from the photo you have, and using a current photo of your new baby, I can adjust the pose of your dad to make it appear that your baby is either with your dad or your dad holding the baby.

How do I send you my reference pictures for a portrait?

Simply send me an email using the "contact seller" button. Within the reply or message box you will see a tiny square in the upper right hand corner of the screen where you may click on to upload all of your pictures.

Do my photographs have to be in high resolution in order for you to do a portrait.

No, I've worked with super low resolution images in the past and can most certainly work with you to make your vision come to life. In addition, I will be updating you throughout the process to ensure you're pleased with the way it is coming out.
