Announcement   Hello and thank you for visiting A Brown Paper Parcel. My Sunday mornings are spent rummaging around the flea markets and brocantes of the Aveyron in South West France.

I like things when sharp edges have been worn away, paint has been scuffed, glaze dulled. I hope you do too and that you enjoy browsing.

New items are added regularly, if you favourite my shop you'll see new stock when you click on the 'home' button at the top of any Etsy page.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Amitiés,
Méabh

About

A Brown Paper Parcel

13 years ago we came to France on a bit of a whim! What felt like an adventure for us seemed like an amazing opportunity for our son who was 4 at the time - the chance to be bilingual and grow up part of two different cultures...

We live in an old farmhouse and I weave tapestries in what was a henshed while my husband paints in what was the tractor shed. I grow veg, cook a lot and like to have people round me. Last year we were joined by my Mum who now lives nearby. She loves nothing more than mooching round brocantes, flea markets and vide greniers - the French version of boot or yard sales. I've discovered I rather like it too and it is all the more fun if there is a purpose to the mooching - the hope of finding something lovely - not necessarily an antique - just something simple and lovely which wears the patina of age well.

That is how A Brown Paper Parcel came about... I hope you'll enjoy mooching too and find something lovely that pleases you.

Welcome to A Brown Paper Parcel. I hope you enjoy browsing! New items are added regularly so please stop by again soon!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
Please let me know within 3 days if you are not satisfied with an item. I will refund the cost of the item (but not the cost of the postage) via Paypal once I have received it back. Return postage is at the cost of the buyer.

If something is damaged in transit please let me have a photo and I will make a refund.

The items I sell are vintage and therefore have been loved and used and are sold 'as is'. I try to buy things in the best condition possible but little scratches, marks or dents are inevitable and tell the story of the item. I try to give an accurate description of the item and I point out any obvious flaws but please look at the photos carefully before you make a decision.
Payment
I accept payment via Direct Checkout and Paypal.

I will accept staged payments for more expensive items.
Shipping
I send things using the french post - Petit Paquet Prioitaire for items up to 2 kg.
There is no tracking with this service but it is very reliable. If you would feel happier with tracking it costs an additional 2.50€ - please choose it as an option at the checkout.

Over 2kgs I send via Colissimo -the French parcel postage service.

I use new or clean recycled packaging, bubble wrap, boxes etc and the whole is wrapped in good old fashioned brown paper.

I post within 3 days of receiving payment. Parcels should arrive within 5 days to 2 weeks in Europe - to other countries it takes from 2 to 3 weeks.

Any import duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
Additional policies and FAQs
Only the item listed is included in the sale. Any other items, photo props etc in the photos are not included. They may be listed separately in which case I will give a link to their listing.
