Announcement   Raglan shirts now available for babies! A modern look at vintage apparel. Acme Baby Co. specializes in unique high-quality sublimation printed shirts and handmade, one of a kind heirloom children's apparel and quilts. In addition to the apparel and quilts,

Acme Baby Co. is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction. We do everything we can to meet your expectations. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Acme Baby Co. is a unique t-shirt and clothing boutique shop for newborns, children, and adults. Established in 2001, everything here is created with love and great attention to neatness and detail. We use industrial sublimation rather than iron or screen printing for a beautiful image that has amazing durability, and will not crack peel or fade, even after hundreds of washes. Our wide variety of vintage-and vintage-inspired images are carefully procured and restored. Acme Baby Co. is proud to be a small but growing cottage-industry brand!

You may notice some pilling or stiffness of the image but this will disappear and WILL SOFTEN AFTER A WASH OR TWO. We recommend to always wash new clothing items before wearing - not just ours!

CARE OF GARMENTS: Machine wash and dry. Do NOT dry-clean.

Sizing is "true to size," and we recommend "sizing up," for a good long-lasting fit!

Our images start out in the public domain and after painstakingly restoring and repairing the images they are under the copyright of Acme Baby Co., as altered art.

NO WATERMARKS ON THE ITEMS YOU RECEIVE.
Any graphic can be put on any size shirt from newborn to adult XXL! Just write me a message if you don't see what you need!

Each of our designs are hand-selected for uniqueness and fun style, and we have an option for organic cottons for our t-shirts. Our collection is basic but not ordinary.  Our colors are crisp and clean, and our prints are made with a professional industrial heat press, from public domain art that is digitally manupilated. (Copied but not duplicated - we suggest looking closely at copies!) Designed and made in Seattle, the quality and construction of our product is impeccable, and we continually strive for a prduct that is sustainable and ethical."

Don't forget to "take the baby out of the box." TM

About

I hope you will find how much I love making baby and kid's clothing.

Creativity and quality has long been a focus of mine, and sewing was practically love at first sight for me. My mother made just about all our clothes when we were little, and I still have some of the fabric from the 70's. I leaned to sew with a little bit of guidance form my mother (mostly it was "read the pattern") and my first real job was ironing tablecloths for Seattle's first ever espresso cafe. My love for domestic chores lives on, and manifests here on Etsy, as well as on my other website and exclusive stores in my locality.

I have a penchant for perfecting the process of construction. Over the years, while I have been learning and implementing vintage sewing techniques (on my beloved 1924 Singer Cottage-Industrial Dressmaker), and collecting all sorts of vintage patterns and reproduction fabrics, I eventually graduated to modern machines, and I absolutely adore them as well. Just like my clothing - I try to create a blend of the vintage with the modern. Unexpected combination of fabrics and colors, and a good variety to keep people interested!

I also have a degree in Landscape Design, but while pregnant in 2001 I started selling clothing for babies. I created the brand Babyfairies, which I sold to Craftsbury Kids in 2005. Not long after that I realized I missed creating baby items so much that I started Acme Baby Co., designing and creating vintage-inspired clothing and accessories for babies and simple, practical design. have also been making industrial sublimation-printed shirts for about four years, personally mentored by a seasoned vet who owns another popular vintage clothing line, and I also love the digital side of my work. I have often dabbled in doing digital art and graphic design for other shops and businesses, inside and out of Etsy, making business cards and designing websites.

I have always been into art and creating. Growing up in Seattle around artists and unusually creative and interesting people has had a big impact on me. I occasionally work for Close Enough Engineering, making massive dodecahedron ice crystals and huge permanent displays for large stores and casinos all over the world! I love working in this huge industrial engineering workshop. I find it really gratifying to be involved in something very tactile, that not many others can do. (I love my industrial tools!) I enjoy having several irons in the fire (I work on the side doing home inspections with my partner), but sewing is what I always come back to.

I have long enjoyed making people happy with my creations, and one day hope to open my own Brick & Mortar shop. I miss the one-on-one of selling in local markets, and I do love working in sales, especially when I get such a tremendously positive feedback in person. I truly hope that you will get a great deal of enjoyment and pleasure out of my items!
