Great necklace! Beautiful weight on the stones. Thanks so much for the fast shipping at Christmas time.

Gave this as a gift to my 16 yr old niece. Here's her review: "Well, it's super simple and that's really nice. I love how it's longer than most simple necklaces. It has a gold color that matches with a lot of clothes so overall it's just an easy, cute necklace."

About

Making Jewelry You Want To Wear

From a family of DIYers and hand-makers, I started my first jewelry shop when I was 8. So it wasn’t really a surprise as an adult when I wanted jewelry that I couldn’t find in stores, I set out to make my own. I wanted simple and modern, but striking without trying too hard. Effortless and well-designed jewelry to easily throw on without too much thought. So, in late 2007, I started making jewelry for A Common Thread.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve been continually amazed and inspired to keep creating. With a background in sewing, knitting and crochet, I try to incorporate non-traditional techniques into my jewelry, to create something unique and striking. And, with a love of everything vintage, I try to use repurposed vintage materials as much as possible.

Thanks for stopping by A Common Thread!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Payments are accepted by using any major credit card, or bank account, via Paypal. And, you don't even have to create a paypal account, if you don't want to. Payment is due once you checkout at Etsy.

NEW YORK CUSTOMERS
All customers shipping items to New York will be charged sales tax on the item + shipping. All applicable taxes will be applied to your Paypal bill during checkout.
Shipping
US ORDERS
All US orders are shipped via USPS First Class mail. If available, a tracking number will be sent to you. Please allow 2-3 business days for your item to be shipped. If you need it faster, contact me and we'll work something out.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
Orders going outside of the US are shipped with USPS First Class International shipping. Tracking is not available for orders outside of the US. These can take up to a week to ship, but usually ship within 3 business days (since some require an actual visit to the post office). If you need it faster, contact me and we'll work something out. Some countries may charge a customs fee -- all fees are the buyer's responsibility. Also, all orders will be marked as 'merchandise' with the listed retail price of the item.

PACKAGING
I *try* to reuse and recycle as much as my shipping/packaging material as possible, which helps keep things a little greener around here, and keeps your shipping costs lower. So, don't be surprised if your goodies show up in a repurposed box or envelope. :)

SHIPPING TIME
The included price of shipping is for First Class shipping. US orders can updgrade to Priority shipping by adding this to your order: https://www.etsy.com/listing/117656357/expedited-shipping-add-priority-shipping

Although most packages will make it to you within a week, because of infrequent delays at USPS, please allow up to 21 days for US orders, and 45 days for international orders, for your items to arrive.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUND POLICY
If you have any questions about the items, please contact me before you place your order. However, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, please send me an email within 7 days or receiving the item for a return or exchange. All shipping costs for returned/exchanged items are the buyer's responsibility and must be shipped with a tracking confirmation number. Refunds will be processed within 7 days of receiving your returned item.

REPAIR POLICY
I hand make each piece carefully, for strength and durability, but sometimes things happen...you drop your jewelry, something happens to it, or you just need a small adjustment for it to fit you just right. Repairs within the first year are FREE! Over a year may have a small fee (dependent on the nature of the materials). Just drop your item in the mail, I'll repair it and send it back to you. The buyer covers shipping both ways for repairs.
Additional policies and FAQs
WHOLESALE & CONSIGNMENT
Items are available at wholesale rates! To get all of the details and a line sheet , email me at hello @ a-common-thread <dot> com

I am not accepting any consignment agreements at this time.

CUSTOM ORDERS
I will happily work with you on a custom order and let you know if it's something I can create for you. This includes modifications of an existing item in the shop, an item that was previously sold, or something brand new that you have an idea for.

FAQ
► Can I change the length of a necklace or earrings?
Sure - in most cases, that is! For vintage items and some one-of-a-kind items, this isn't possible, but 99% of the time I can work with you on a new length.

► How long will it take for my international order to arrive?
*Typically*, orders will arrive in about 2 to 3 weeks. However, since all orders are subject to customs inspection, sometimes they can get held up, so we'll need to wait at least 45 days.

► Where did you get your mannequin?
The mannequin (or Sophie, I like to call her) was an amazingly lucky find from a shop that was closing down here in New York. I'm pretty sure she's vintage too.

► I need it fast! Do you offer expedited shipping?
Absolutely. Contact me and we'll work out something that gets it there as fast as you need it. Expedited shipping rates may apply.
