About

The best is yet to come

Life will never cease to surprise you if you allow it to. I do not consider myself brave, but whenever life has thrown a new adventure in my way, I have not shied from it. This is how I ended up living and creating in Mansfield, Texas. I am not American. I consider Bulgaria, a small country in Southeastern Europe my home, although I have lived there, but a few years. If every place, where we live, define and mold us, then I must resemble an abstract work of art that combines Spanish, English, French, Swiss, Mexican, Bulgarian, and American influences. Wonder what that may look like? Take a look at the picture on the right; that is me, smiling at life.

My artwork is another of life’s whims, which I have embraced wholeheartedly. It was back in 2007, in the heart of the financial crisis, that I decided to leave behind my successful career as editor-in-chief of a leading international magazine and move to the USA. I had met my husband and it never occurred to me to question what comes first: career or love. I am a hopeless romantic. But if the heart has reasons that the mind cannot understand, it is still bound to slam against reality at some point. The wake-up call for me came when I realized I could not continue my career here. Traditional media was a dying business, I was told, and I needed to find a different outlet of artistic creativity.

Polymer clay provided me with this outlet. I found happiness and peace of mind in kneading the clay, in mixing colors, in giving life to my ideas. My new passion opened my eyes to details of the world surrounding me that I might have never noticed otherwise; it has filled my existence with new colors and shapes that would blend with the background while I was running to reach my next, always next, deadline at the magazine.

I do not know what else life has in store for me. There will be ups and downs, and more than one surprises from which, I would like to believe, I will never shy. I do hope, however, that I will continue to create and for the simplest of reasons: it makes me truly happy.

Additional policies and FAQs
If you are experiencing any problems, including being dissatisfied with an item, please, contact me. I put a great deal of time, thought, effort, and love into making my items, because I want my clients to love the pieces they purchase. If you are not happy please let me know.

I am often asked what techniques I use to produce some of the unique effects for my pieces. Please understand that these techniques are the result of a great deal of trial and error and hard work. I consider them my "secret recipes", so please don't be disappointed that I keep them to myself.

I do not offer wholesale and consignment. Handmade work requires vision, craftsmanship, and effort that mass-produced articles do not. I cannot sell on discount the effort and love I put in creating each and every item. Thank you for your understanding!

Frequently asked questions

About Polymer clay

Polymer clay is a relatively new material. It is sold in blocks with a soft consistency similar to play-dough, but once cured, the clay hardens. Depending on clay brand, type of design, and processing, it can be very hard or semi-flexible. Most of the items in my collection such as cuffs and bib necklaces are semi-flexible so they are easy to put on. They are light and comfortable to wear, but quite sturdy. A polymer clay item can of course break, but I use a technique that makes them stronger and more resistant than what you can usually purchase.

Care instructions

My polymer clay items are finished with acrylics, mica powders, and other materials after being cured, and are coated with clear gloss to protect them. In the titles you will see described the colors of the items. A piece described as a copper polymer clay item is not made of copper, it is crafted of polymer clay so as to resemble copper in appearance.
Care is easy. Simply wipe the item with a damp cloth and let dry.

Sizing details

All items, except cuffs that use blanks as support, can be customized, usually at no further cost.

Estimated time of shipping

All items are made to order. The estimated time of shipping is from one to two weeks. Most items ship in a week and are delivered in two to three days. If you need the item faster, please contact me prior to placing an order to find out if I can accommodate your needs. Priority mail applies to USPS service not the time I fulfill the order in.
All items are handmade by me and hence the longer waiting time.
Thank you very much for your interest and understanding!
