Announcement   Crocheters please read :-) the following

Please, contact me to have a crochet hook or hooks made. I have tried using custom order forms but I think it's easier if you dialogue with me via conversations. I will create a listing just for you. It makes it easier for me as I can reference the conversation as the hooks are made. Click the following link and tell me what you have in mind
https://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=AdzeWoodcraft

Examples: I want a #6 steel thread hook, affixed in a Gabon ebony handle, or I want that hook, in that picture, but a different size. I'm easy. :-) I prefer to work with you directly it's part of the Zen of making.

Kind Regards, Scott
Adze Woodcraft

My work is all of my own design and is one of a kind. I hand finish, paint, turn and carve my rustic forms and tools. Much of my inspiration comes from our ancestors and early primitives.

I received my provincial hook from Adze Woodcraft and I am more than delighted with it! It was packaged well and traveled from the USA to Scotland perfectly, gorgeous packaging, and the hook itself is wonderful. I can't wait to produce my first piece using it and hope to order more in the future. If anyone is wondering whether to buy one, I would highly recommend you place an order. Where do I begin? I can't say enough about Scotts hooks. Made with such care of a true craftsman, that takes pride in his work. They glide through wool like silk, so smooth. Not only are they beautiful, but I can crochet longer with less pain in my hands. By far the best ergonomic hooks I've ever used. Thank you very much for the beeswax/coconut oil. It makes a tremendous difference. As for beauty, personally, the Cocobolo is my favorite! Thank you again Scott for your patience and support! Yes, I won a red oak hook, which I absolutely adore! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

About

I create one-of-a-kind wood art; specializing in Crochet hooks, wood bowls and other treen

Hi my name is Scott Foster and I am the sole proprietor of Adze Woodcraft and Sundry. My shop is located in Northwest New Jersey, a stone's throw from the Delaware Water Gap and the Hudson Valley, in New York State. During a day trip you can; hit the wineries and cideries, eat farm to table food, hike on the Appalachian trail or Kayak on the Delaware. This is a beautiful part of the United States. My shop is located in a 400 square foot building out behind the house.

The shop is on three bucolic acres in an area, once known for dairy farms. The dairy farms have been replaced with horse training facilities and small scale farming. My family inspires me to create. My support group consists of wife, son, daughter, three dogs, and two cats.
My work is always changing and I struggle with, even small-scale manufacturing. I'm at my best when I free-form and experiment. My interest in crochet hooks, nostepinne and fiber art tools in general was sparked after helping out at a local alpaca farm.
On that day of shearing I saw two baby alpacas come into the world and had the opportunity to hold them and dry them by hand. This sparked an interest in fiber. The connection between the people, animals, land, and the fiber crafts are ancient. As a history buff I find this very inspiring!
My work is inspired by the forms of the past, my work is my work but I can't help but be affected by the awesome connections between ancient civilizations and the now.

Thank you for visiting Adze Woodcraft and Sundry!

Kind Regards, Scott

Custom and personalized orders

I do custom orders. If you are having a hard time finding a specific size crochet hook or one that meets your specifications I will work with you to create a design. This goes for bowls, hollow forms or any other wood turned item. Thanks Scott
