Inspired by the insuperable beauty of the Southern Aegean I've discovered a love for creating jewelry.

After retiring from a varied career as owner of an optical establishment as well as a professor of history, I retired to Rhodes, Greece to the centuries old home of my wife's family. Not a day passes without me gazing with awe at the natural beauty of this storied island. One day while in the living room, I happened to be gazing at a bowl of sea glass collected over dozens of summer visits to our seasonal home (now our residence), it struck me that these colorful little fragments, each with its own shape and shade, must have had a long journey tumbling along the floor of the Aegean until appearing at the feet of its discoverer. I thought that these would make wonderful, unique, natural pieces of jewelry. Quickly, my tinkering around became a quite satisfying hobby. Friends commented that the few items I'd created were lovely. Of course having spent my career as an entrepreneur, these complements encouraged me to consider selling some. Before too long, my little creations began to be purchased by hundreds of people around the world. My interest in various beach findings and aesthetic tastes, skill levels and techniques have been influenced by buyers and fellow artisans.

New Yorker retired to the island of Rhodes, Greece. I try to reflect the colors, light, and history here through my creations. Except for the finished chains and bails, etc., the components of my pieces are all from the Aegean, hand made by me.
