Welcome to African Grey Designs!

We offer adorable, high-quality paper items that look so much like your pet, you'll wonder if it was custom-made just for you!

Who are we?

African Grey Designs was founded by me, Whitney Blaue, in 2008. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Art from The University of Tulsa - and, as you can see, I love to draw! My Etsy business was inspired by my love for illustration, animals, and paper products. With the humble beginning of selling my first greeting card in 2008, I have now sold thousands of pieces and created hundreds of pet portraits for my clients. Etsy has given me the opportunity (and honor) of sharing my art with wonderful people all over the globe!

My customers have been fantastic inspirations. I get a lot of recommendations from people who are looking for something specific, and I do my best to create that for them.

My husband Michael is my greatest supporter, and is involved with African Grey's marketing projects. We live in the lovely state of Oklahoma with our sons.

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase from African Grey.

All sales are final. At this time we are NOT accepting returns. Once a paper item has been shipped and delivered, I cannot re-sell it to another customer.

Please read each product's COMPLETE description before purchasing. For all of our items, the dimensions are listed in the description so you will know how large each item will be. We are not responsible if a customer does not read the item's FULL description and view all of the photos in the listing.

When an item is purchased, the buyer is agreeing to the policies stated above.

Occasionally I do run sales in my shop. These sales are active at random times. Sale prices are honored specifically during the sale times. If an item is purchased for full price when there is no active sale, the customer is agreeing to the purchase at full price.

We have tried to take the most accurate photos of our items possible, but please remember different monitors may display colors a little differently.

Please contact me before leaving neutral or negative feedback about my shop. Customer satisfaction is very important to us! We love our customers, and we want you to be happy with your shopping experience in our Etsy shop.
Shipping
*HOLIDAY DELAYS*
Shipment times for November and December are often very delayed. After an item is purchased, it will be mailed within 1-2 days - but I cannot guarantee when it will arrive. Please understand I have no control over how fast an order moves after it is mailed. The USPS is overwhelmed, and tracking has been unreliable due to the high volume of mail and the restrictions caused by COVID. If there is no movement in the tracking after 30 days from the day it was mailed, I will file a missing mail report and offer a refund. I don't offer refunds for items that are still in transit.

How quickly will I receive my order?
Under normal circumstances (non-holiday season), your order will likely reach you within 5-10 business days (US orders), depending on what day of the week your order is placed. We are currently shipping three times a week in the mornings, although this is subject to change with the season. Our current shipment schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (non-holiday season). We ship our items using the USPS (First Class Mail).

Will COVID 19 affect the arrival time of my item?
While most of my shipments are arriving in the time frame stated above, some post office hubs have been affected due to fewer people working at those hubs. Flights have also been affected. Therefore, some shipments (including priority shipments and most international orders) have been delayed. For my first class shipments, I am unable to provide arrival estimates at this time. Priority shipments may be delayed by a couple of days. International orders may require at least 4-8 weeks.

How much does shipping cost?
All of the shipping costs in our shop include what we spend on tracking and packaging materials to ensure a safe delivery to your home, as well as the time and gas money it takes to make our ventures to the post office. Our items are shipped in high-quality, bend-proof mailers. We spend a little extra on our mailers to ensure a safe delivery to your home! The bulk of our shipping costs is for the tracking that is added to ensure a quick delivery to your home. A portion of our shipping cost also goes towards Etsy transaction and shipping fees.

Can I track my package?
Yes! Etsy will send tracking information to you when your order ships (for US shipments). Unfortunately, I am unable to provide tracking for most international shipments since they are mailed as first class letters.

*HOLIDAY TRACKING*
Please note that due to the high volume of mail, most packages are not being scanned at every hub. Your tracking number may not show every stop along your order's journey.

Can I upgrade my shipping?
Yes, upgraded shipping is available for customers in the United States. We offer a Priority Shipping option, which ensures a 2-day transit time (2-3 business days). *Please note: Due to COVID 19, some priority shipments have been delayed. I am not responsible for shipping delays.

Where do I enter my address?
Upon purchase, please make sure your Etsy shipping address is up to date. We cannot be responsible for packages that have been shipped to outdated addresses. Packages will always ship to the shipping address given in your Etsy invoice.

What do I do if my order never arrives?
Please feel free to contact us if your item does not show up within 14 business days (for US orders). Some of my US orders have been requiring 3 weeks to arrive, due to the large volume of mail at some hubs due to COVID 19 shutdowns. During the holidays, the mail system may be a bit slower. Once an item has shipped, I have absolutely no control over the transit time. I am not an employee of the USPS and do not have access to the GPS coordinates of the delivery location. If an item is marked as being "delivered" within the postal system but cannot be found by the customer, I am not responsible for locating that item. I will refer the customer to their local mail carrier, who can then help them locate the item's whereabouts using GPS coordinates.

Do you ship worldwide?
Due to COVID 19, I have had to put a brief hold on shipping some of my items worldwide. I am planning on opening my worldwide shipping back up as soon as possible.

*INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS*
Depending on the value, a duty tax payment may be required upon delivery. This tax varies by country and is something beyond our control. Please take this tax into consideration upon purchase.

*IMPORTANT for GIFTERS*
To help minimize waste on our great planet, orders that include multiple smaller items (like calendars or gift tags) will be packaged together in clear bags - rather than placing each item in its own bag. If you want your items packaged in separate bags, please let us know in your MESSAGE TO SELLER upon checkout.

Is it possible to change the wording, font, background color, or fur color in your available designs?
Yes, we are happy to customize - often free of charge! A small design fee will be added if the changes are a bit more extensive. Send us a message and we will get back with you quickly.

Do you give discounts?
Check our shop announcement for our latest coupon codes. We do offer discounts for large orders. Please send us a message and we can set up a custom order for you!
