We had a great time at the Avante Garde Arts & Crafts Show in Farmington Hills a few weeks ago! Very proud of how my booth turned out!

About

"I've been making bracelets for my mom since I knew how to spell 'MOM' with letter beads."

I've loved sewing and crafts my whole life. I remember my grandma teaching me how to sew a pillow using scrap material and stuffing it with the discarded cotton from pill bottles. I learned at an early age that most things can be reused for a different purpose. Most things I've made have been gifts for people I love. I've been making bracelets for my mom since I knew how to spell "MOM" with letter beads.

I learned a lot of what I know about sewing and crafts from my friends and family. We're talking four generations of incredibly creative people. I am so lucky to be surrounded by creative people who constantly inspire me. Most of the people I'm close to are very creative, and many of them have Etsy shops themselves. Here on Etsy, I'm hoping to collaborate with others, create new things, meet new people, and grow as a shop and as an individual.

Here's the story on the recycled upholstery fabric, never actually used on furniture:
When the fabric samples on the rack at the furniture store are discontinued, they often just get discarded, and I didn't have the heart to see that happen. I started collecting the discontinued fabric samples and coming up with projects to suit the fabrics, like purses, quilts, and pet beds. The majority of the fabrics I use are heavy duty and can be cleaned with water-based cleaners. I recommend spot-cleaning your bag. However, for those impossible stains, I recommend taking the items to your local dry-cleaner's. Do not machine-wash.

The bags are made from an adaptation of a Simplicity pattern. In these days of copyright laws and remix culture, consider this a shout-out to Simplicity Pattern Co. Inc.
