About

I want to offer custom size hand dyed skeins of yarn to those who want to afford to do more and waste less.

I started crafting when I was in elementary school and we were given a needlepoint project to work on. I was immediately obsessed and continued to do needlepoint until I went off to college.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine started knitting and taught me how to do it too. At the time, I just made some garter stitch scarves. I also let this fall to the back burner when I went off to college.

After completing a credential and finally having free time, I picked knitting back up. I really didn't know anyone else who knit and so I joined a local knitting group. It was held at a store that was more 'workshop' where instructors were there to help me out. It was a perfect blend of casual hangout and learning how to knit.

I soon moved away from that area and could not find a similar group in my new city. Instead, I found the online knitting community. I discovered podcasts and I still cannot believe how much I have learned about knitting through them.

Even though I feel a part of the knitting community, I'm on the sidelines of it. I listen to podcasts, but I still don't know any other knitters. I've been trying to think of a way to find my own corner of the craft world.

Something else about me is that I find it hard to own something without a purpose. When I buy yarn, I always know what it will grow up to be. However, I often have too many leftovers! When I knit a pair of socks, it's common for me to have 50% of the yarn left. While I could knit a second pair of socks, I would much prefer to knit a new pair with new and exciting yarn! Now I often feel frustrated at all of my leftovers. Similarly, I don't like buying an extra skein of yarn "just in case" for larger projects. I often don't finish the project by the store's return deadline and am stuck with one skein of yarn that I now have to find a purpose for or play a game of yarn chicken.

Both of these combined led me to open a yarn business where you choose how much yarn you actually need in your skein. If you only need 60g of yarn for a pair of socks, just buy 60g of yarn! You can save money and put it towards your next skein of yarn. Do you need 120g of yarn? Why buy 200g? Just buy 120g! Do you want to make a 3 color shawl that only uses a fraction of each color? Buy exactly what you need and move onto the next project!

New colorways and will be added regularly as my little store grows. Please reach out to me without hesitation for questions, comments, requests or general feedback. I'd love to hear from you!
