When I started painting, late at night in late December 2010, while my youngest baby was asleep, I snapped photos of my art on my phone and posted them on Twitter and Facebook for my friends to see.

Soon people had bought pieces and asked for them to be sent all over the UK, to Chile, San Francisco, and Ireland. People bought them as gifts and for themselves.

Making art _for other people_ as well as myself gave me a bigger urge to work hard at it. I take enormous joy in painting - I started with just blocks of colour, one tube of paint, one brush, one canvas, and many many shades - and it matters to me that others who are moved by art have the opportunity to _live with it_, to have it in their lives to see and touch.
