Absolutely Superb quality. Best I have seen available online or in person. Fast and safe delivery from a marvellous, knowledgeable and helpful seller. You simply cannot go wrong shopping here. I will be back. Many thanks and kind regards, Lu in Dorset.

Excellent service as always. My order went missing in the post but a replacement was sent out as soon as I let the seller know. Would definitely recommend.

About

Journey of a butterfly perfectionist...

I chase perfection, but am constantly flitting on to new projects - that's why I call myself a butterfly perfectionist. Money doesn't motivate me much. I need to make enough to keep my head above water - and my Etsy shop is one of several means to that end. But I'm more interested in the journey of exploration, discovery and development and in striving for satisfaction - my own and that of my customers.

The main materials I work with at present are:
- Borosilicate glass, mostly from the USA, developed and produced by a few small companies at the cutting edge of the art glass world;
- Argentium 960 silver, a low-tarnish, high-purity silver with special properties, a patented British innovation;
- High carat golds - 18 for elements of jewellery where hardness and strength are needed, and 24 for accents or small elements in combination with silver.

Without being fanatical, I do care about environmental and social responsibility. All Argentium silver is "responsible silver" and I also choose to pay a little more for responsibly sourced "eco" gold. I am in the process of registering with the London Assay Office in order to have my precious metal pieces hallmarked - until I've done that I only sell smaller items for which hallmarking is not a legal requirement in the UK.

I've always loved making things with hand and brain, though I spent much of my younger working life as a teacher of English - in several UK and Kenya schools, also in a small residential business school, and for a short while in a prison. An 8-year period of depression put an end to that, but in the course of my recovery I reawakened my creative side - writing, inventing, making - and began to give it a proper place in my life.

A few people who inspire me:

Karel Werner - my Indian Philosophy tutor, the wisest man I know
Cesar Millan - "the Dog Whisperer"
Soham Harrison - a silversmith on YouTube
Salif Keita - the golden voice of Africa

And, finally, a few lines from W B Yeats - "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven" - which, though so familiar and so much quoted, never fail to inspire me:

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Shipping
In my shop you pay shipping only on the first item, so any additional items ordered at the same time go free of charge. I can also combine items for postage with my partner - doriwallace - and our joint shop - ooakpembrokeshire. You have to pay separately in each shop but we will package items together and refund any extra postage paid.

I always post as soon as possible after receiving payment, using First Class post within the UK and Airmail for all international destinations. Delivery times to different countries may vary, with target times of 3-5 days for Europe and 5-10 days for the rest of the world.

CUSTOMS: I am required to attach a customs declaration form to any package sent outside the EU - please check your own country's policy on import duty and taxes.

POST TO THE USA has been affected in recent years by increased screening demanded by the US Dept for Homeland Security. Most items do arrive within the expected time of 5-10 days, but delivery times to the USA are unpredictable.
Refunds and Exchanges
I offer a simple, unconditional guarantee. If you are unhappy with a purchase for any reason, simply let me know and return it, in its original condition, for a full refund excluding postage. I check all my items carefully, but in case of a mistake on my part I would also refund postage.
