Most the products sold on the A La Modern are one-of-a-kind, vintage items. Because these are older items, some amount of wear should be expected. In most cases, this wear will be minimal (or will even contribute to the look and authenticity of the piece). Occasionally, we will list items that have more damage. If this is the case, then the damage will be noted in description or pictures, and will be reflected in the price. Please read the *entire description* and look at all the pictures before making your purchase.

Sales and/or local taxes on ALL applicable orders will be charged automatically - we do not have control over that.

Shipping

Orders are usually shipped within 2-3 business days. If you order something when we are on vacation, we will try to ship your package the day after we return.

If there will be a serious delay with shipping, we will let you know beforehand. We are not responsible for any shipping delays due to the carrier. Whenever possible, confirmation of delivery will be included.

If you would like to work out a different shipping method - please convo us, BEFORE placing your order.

Packages within the United States are normally shipped USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, unless otherwise specified.

On occasion, we may choose a different USPS shipping method (such as First Class) or shipper (such as FedEx or UPS) if it is cheaper or more convenient.

* * * International Orders * * *
WE WILL NOT mark an item as a "gift" on customs forms, nor will we change the description or value of item in order to avoid taxes/duties. Please do not ask us to do this. ALL import fees, taxes, VAT, tariffs, customs charges, are the responsibility of the buyer.

LET'S REPEAT THAT: ALL IMPORT FEES, TAXES, VAT, TARIFFS, CUSTOM CHARGES ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY, ETSY IS NOT LEGALLY ABLE TO FORCE US TO PAY ANY OF THESE FEES.

If you would like to include insurance and tracking - please request USPS International Priority Mail. Items sent USPS First Class International usually do not include any type of insurance and often no tracking. Buyer assumes ALL responsibility for these items. We are not responsible for any lost items, extra fees, custom duties or damage on any items sent by First Class International Mail.

If you are in any country other than the United States please convo us first for a shipping quote BEFORE you order.

Additional policies and FAQs

We are very careful with our packaging. However, we realize that occasionally an item may be lost or damaged in shipping transit. Please contact us first for more information on insurance and returns.

Please make sure to provide the correct address during your purchase. Once an order has shipped, we will not be able to change the address until delivery is attempted and returned by USPS. If you find that you’ve given the wrong address, please let us know immediately, since we may not have shipped your package yet.

In all cases, original shipping charges are non-refundable. This includes packages that are refused and shipped back to us. If re-shipment is required, additional charges will be incurred.
