After high school I went to Athens Georgia Vocational/technical school and learned to be an electronics Technician. The next 25 years I drove to Atlanta to practice my trade. The 90 min. drive each way finally took it toll and I decided to set up my own repair shop at home.

My dad had a custom cabinet shop for many years. He and my mom did all the work themselves. Occasionally my brother or I would help on Saturdays with the installation. Then about 10 years ago I started to help with the building of the cabinets part time. The more I learned the more I liked it. Then the housing recession a few years back took a toll on the cabinet business. I wanted to keep the wood working business going into another generation so I started designing the wood bird house kits shown on this page. Each kit took about 2 days to design and draw the instructions to go with it. All of the design work was done by me. A few yeas ago I also added the scout kits to offer an easy and economical project for the scout leaders.

This has been the most enjoyable job I have ever had.
