Coming home to my porcelain roots...
I've always loved clay but spent years pretending I didn't...don't ask me why! After studying at Central Saint Martins and Camberwell I tried my hand at some other media, the most demanding and unusual being bread...yes bread. I made dresses out of bread for Jean Paul Gaultier, and when that was all done and dusted I spent a number of years making models for Norman Foster. I experienced lots of different materials and techniques which continue to develop my own work to this day. I met some amazingly talented people and have been privy to some truly inspiring designs and ideas.
I am now well and truly back in my own practice with much more vigour than I thought was possible. I regularly exhibit but love to make jewellery and functional ware too.
My unusual 'bread making' days are not behind me however, with very gentle prodding I'll happily chew your ear off, telling you about all the strange collaborations coming up...Saville row tailors, architects and musicians...don't get me started! You can find more information on my projects and sculpture on my website www.alexandracarr.co.uk.

Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I'm in love with porcelain, an obsession which began many moons ago. My focus is on all things geometric, repeating forms and the perfection of nature. I have a fascination with science of antiquity and a fixation with Queen Elizabeth I.
