Super happy with this purchase. The seller shipped it the day after I purchased it which I really appreciated, and it was packaged super well. Incredible quality, I can't believe how beautiful this vase is for such a great price. I will absolutely be ordering from this shop again!

I love my custom humidity dish (and also apparently cat water bowl), and it was so fun working with Alex on it! Because my request entailed a new technique, she actually provided three options for me to choose from! All were great, but I ended up choosing the one that was exactly how I envisioned it.

Absolutely beautiful piece of original art! Exactly as pictured. If you are thinking of ordering pottery, you have come to the right place. Fast shipping and the artist is always super nice and helpful. You will not be disappointed!

I bought this as a fun gift for someone! Everyone needs a berry bowl to rinse their fruit, and this one comes with a tray to catch the drips. It is also made by a small business artist, making it even more special!
Learning around the World
Each of my collections is unique to my time spent there. So far, I've lived and thrown in 3 different, very unique places:
I learned to throw pottery on the beautiful tiny island of Okinawa, Japan, in April 2016. I was so lucky to learn from a master potter, Jorge Itokazu, who had been throwing for over 30 years. It took me 3 months to actually throw something worth saving, but once I did I was hooked. I used red clay bodies that were full of grit, which makes the glazes run wild. These pots are smaller, more rustic and rough.
After a year learning from Sensei Jorge, we moved to Missouri. It was here I found a small locally owned studio to practice my craft. At the Faye May Creative Arts Studio in the tiny town of Waynesville, I was able to test new clays, glazes, and techniques using their studio, wheel, and kiln. I traveled to St. Louis or Springfield to gather supplies. Here I used a combination of brown and white clays. With many of the brown clay bodies, I tried to leave some of the natural color rather than cover it with glaze. It was here that I tested my abilities on my own, and spent hours every day in the studio having fun. I tried layering glazes and throwing much bigger than I was throwing previously. I also taught Faye and her husband, Bearl, a few tricks on the wheel that I had learned from Jorge, and myself.
After a year experimenting in Faye's studio, we moved to Colorado Springs. I now work in a community studio, where I am inspired by others, as well as give advice (when asked!) and can ask others for advice. I use mostly smooth white clay that makes glaze colors pop! I work on hand-building at home, and wheel-throwing in the studio.
