Announcement   Thanks for being here!
I love bright color, patterning and texture on my whimsical creations.
I make cheerful, handmade coffee mugs, stoneware kitchenware and fun serving sets.
All functional items are microwave and dishwasher-safe, and of course, lead-free.

Everything listed is made by me, myself, me, me only, and I.
Even when I should be sleeping:)

Any item listed is available in any pattern/combo seen within my site*--most patterns/glazes are interchangeable, and new stock is always coming out of the kiln.

Please allow a firm two weeks for delivery, unless we've agreed otherwise through Etsy-hosted messages.
Any orders placed after Dec.12th will NOT make it by Christmas...but New Years presents are great, too! :)

Thanks for the love! ~~Alissa

Great mugs! Really strudy & well made. I also ordered one of another bike pattern. They will be a gift. The shop owner was very easy to work & communicate with. I even received and additional gift for a minor shipping delay.

About

Happy chief mud-slinger of my own clay empire

I have a B.F.A. from Northen Arizona University, where I had three amazing, encouraging professors (Paula Rice, Ellen Tibbets and Don Bendel ).
Each was amazingly encouraging to me, especially the ladies.

Coming from a background (but not an upbringing) of ladies in the arts, I knew I wanted to take my art further as a career.

After having my fabulous son (who is now a college freshman), I enrolled with Aurore Chabot, a much-admired clay sculptor/architect wizard at the University of Arizona in Tucson. SO worth it !

After my M.F.A. graduation, I taught at Portland Community College part-time, Did Portland Saturday Market, Lithia Artist Market in Ashland, and managed Ashland Art Center Clay Studio full-time (each official job for five years- funny) !

I have learned that I best like working for myself, and making my own hours and deadlines (and, before a show deadline, always my very own timeline crisis. It's important to lose sleep to gain perspective).

I do own a gallery/studio/classroom where we have scheduled clay classes and I have had to learn the sometimes tricky art of business hours, but I am overwhelmingly grateful for the independence and autonomy this artist life affords me.

I love my job ! And I hope you love my creations.
Big smiles from the Oregon dunes,
Alissa :)

I live on the beautiful central Oregon coast with my husband Nathan and a whole lot of sand dunes. I own a clay gallery/classroom/community space business in a downtown Florence historical house (inventively called Alissa Clark Clayworks). :)

Welcome!
I thoroughly enjoy making everything you see listed on my page.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions I haven't covered regarding my items.
Most items are handbuilt, some wheel-thrown.
Everything is handmade in Florence, Oregon with LOVE.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept Paypal and Etsy Direct Checkout Credit Card Processing. Payment must be received within 48 hours of purchase or order will be cancelled.
Shipping
Please provide a clear shipping address with your order.
For shipping within the US, I use USPS priority mail .

I do ship internationally-however, international shipping can get really pricey because of the weight of the ceramics.
I try to ship first class international whenever possible to keep the shipping costs down, but packages over 4 pounds must be shipped using international priority mail. It’s not my rule, it’s USPS!

International customers are responsible for all fees, taxes, and duties/custom charges associated with shipping to their respective countries. I am not responsible for breakage that occurs because of customs checks.

Be assured that your pottery will be packed very carefully and should arrive safely!
Refunds and Exchanges
Return Policy:

If your item arrives damaged please contact me immediately by sending a digital picture of the damaged piece to my contact link here and I will make and send you a replacement. If the item arrives and is not as described in the item description it can be returned for a refund or exchanged for something else within 5 days. There are no returns on custom items. In the case of all returns you will be responsible for return shipping charges. Please return in original package as to keep the pottery protected. Your money will be refunded once the piece safely arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Yes! I can make them, but they have to be in reason and I do not go outside of the bounds of what is listed. Therefore do not ask me to make you a customized ash tray for grandma or a doggie dish for Humphrey the Wonder Terrier. I'm sure grandma and Humphrey are wonderful, but I simply don't have the time to create items like this.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I do not do gift wrapping. Don't get me wrong, I'm very good at it, I simply do not have the time to provide this service.

Wholesale availability

I do wholesale orders, but you will have to contact me to discuss further.
