Announcement
Please order by December 12th for a Christmas delivery.
Thanks for being here!
I love bright color, patterning and texture on my whimsical creations.
I make cheerful, handmade coffee mugs, stoneware kitchenware, fun serving sets, and fun sculptural art items.
All functional items are microwave and dishwasher-safe, and of course, lead-free.
Everything listed is made by me, myself, me, me only, and I.
Even when I should be sleeping:)
Most items listed are available in any pattern/combo seen within my site, most patterns/glazes are interchangeable, and new stock is always coming out of the kiln.
Please allow a firm two weeks for delivery, unless we've agreed otherwise through Etsy-hosted messages.
Any orders placed after Dec.12th will NOT make it by Christmas...but New Years presents are great, too! :)
Thanks for the love! ~~Alissa

5 out of 5 starsBelieve it or not, this is the third time we have purchased this mug. My husband loves it so much so I got it for his birthday after the last two met and early breaking fate. Oh gravity! Each time it came in a different shade of green or blue. Very unique. There is not one of the mugs the same. Stunning work!

Happy chief mud-slinger of my own clay empire
I have a B.F.A. from Northen Arizona University, where I had three amazing professors (Paula Rice, Ellen Tibbets and Don Bendel ).
Each was amazingly encouraging to me, especially the ladies.
Coming from a background (but not an upbringing) of ladies in the arts, I knew I wanted to take my art further as a career.
After having my fabulous son (who is now a college sophomore), I enrolled with Aurore Chabot, a much-admired clay sculptor/architect wizard at the University of Arizona in Tucson. SO worth it !
After my M.F.A. graduation, I taught at Portland Community College part-time, I sold at Portland Saturday Market, Lithia Artisans Market in Ashland, and managed Ashland Art Center Clay Studio full-time (each official job for five years- funny) !
I have learned that I best like working for myself, and making my own hours and deadlines (and, before a show deadline, always my very own timeline crisis. It's important to lose sleep to gain perspective).
I do own a gallery/studio/classroom where we have scheduled clay classes and I have had to learn the sometimes tricky art of maintaining business hours, but I am overwhelmingly grateful for the independence and autonomy this artist life affords me.
I love my job ! And I hope you love my creations.
Big smiles from the Oregon dunes,
Alissa :)

Shipping
Please provide a clear shipping address with your order.
For shipping within the US, I use USPS priority mail .
I do ship internationally-however, international shipping can get really pricey because of the weight of the ceramics.
I try to ship first class international whenever possible to keep the shipping costs down, but packages over 4 pounds must be shipped using international priority mail. It’s not my rule, it’s USPS!
International customers are responsible for all fees, taxes, and duties/custom charges associated with shipping to their respective countries. I am not responsible for breakage that occurs because of customs checks.
Be assured that your pottery will be packed very carefully and should arrive safely!

Custom and personalized orders
Yes! I happily make them, but they have to be within my reasonable artistic parameters. So, not so much into a customized ash tray for Grandma or a doggie dish for Humphrey the wonder terrier, as I’d rather forward my own vision of clay art.
Gift wrapping and packaging
There is an additional gift wrapping listing for $5.
All gift wrapping from my shop is thematic free and at artists creative direction/discretion.
