About

Here's the Scuttlebutt

You might be wondering, what does a little mouse have to do with jewelry? Well, 'little mouse' is my husband's nickname for me so I decided to name it based on that. We had no idea until recently that that was actually a popular term of endearment in Germany. Who knew!? I guess Germany.

I'm the kind of person that loves to dive into anything creative. When I was younger, I was all about music. That passion turned into an immense interest in everything about sound - how it travels across space, its significance across all species, and its essential role in story telling. I became a film and television sound effects editor. Basically, I make cars sound like cars and things that should go boom go *BOOM!* After my husband relocated for work and I followed, I started making jewelry out of genuine sea glass and opened my Etsy as a business. I continued working on television shows like Vampire Diaries. In 2015 I started having health issues and took leave from my job after winning a Primetime Emmy and closed by business to recuperate. Recovery is an indefinite process but I am happy to have started to list items to my Etsy store again as a hobby and hopefully someday I will call it a a business again.

As a born and raised California girl, I love the beach. My sea glass collection started my interest in jewelry making. I have recently expanded to working with pearls and gemstones, but sea glass is still my favorite. I particularly love sea glass because each one is an individual and has an origin story, like all of us. I love the idea that sea glass emerges from the ocean after decades of being shaped by the sand and sea as a beautiful little gem and just waits for someone to pluck it from the shore. It finds its way to me and then to you. Some colors are quite valuable and are considered rarities but I think each one is special and make excellent gifts as jewelry. I once read something to the effect, 'If sea glass is just glass, a diamond is just a rock."

I offer excellent communication, attentive customer service, and quality materials and products. I hope to make people truly happy with what they receive. I hope you like my shop!
