Announcement   Check out my brand new website at www.middlebrookfiberworks.com!

I started my business 3 years ago, and it's been a thrilling ride...humbling, scary, and unrelenting, but also completely fulfilling. I couldn't believe I fell into crafting handspun yarn and fibery diversions as a career, and I couldn't imagine doing anything more gratifying. The fiber arts community is an amazing one, and developing relationships with customers and fellow makers is one of my favorite aspects of my job.

But since my move last summer, I've been pursuing a new dream: to open a teaching studio to share my love of making, and to invite others to join me in exploring and experimenting.

My new dream is called Middle Brook Fiberworks, named for the stream that runs through the west side of my new property. In the coming weeks, I'll be transitioning from A Little Teapot to Middle Brook Fiberworks. Follow me on Instagram (@anne.choi) for studio-in-progress pictures and updates!

These necklaces are simply beautiful - stunning colours and I love the texture and feel of them. The cuticle cream was fab too.

About

"they sell socks already knit, you know..."

...so my husband pointed out to me when i took up knitting. what do you think he said when i started dyeing and spinning my own yarn for socks??

he's right of course; you *can* buy socks. by the dozen, even. but can you buy that thrilling surge of creative energy that goes into imagining the colors and textures for a new project that will be your own handiwork?

making art fiber--and fiber art--is a process that engages me wholly: bodily and intellectually, while nourishing my creative spirit. knowing that my yarns and fibers will become a part of someone else's creative journey is wonderfully exciting, and a source of inspiration.

so until they can mass-produce and shrink-wrap the sense of fulfillment and gratification gained from this process of envisioning and creating, i'll continue to be a maker.
