I love this white witch! She is so special. I especially appreciate the tone on tone texture of the embroidery. I will return to shop again!

Unbelievable Etsy experience! Holly angel was on my favorites list, but someone else purchased her before I could get back to her. I contacted Alkekda Dolls at midnight a few nights before Christmas to a ask if another could be made. Within minutes, Farida Dowler responded that she would be happy to create another Holly Angel for me. I explained that I did not expect to receive her before Christmas, but my Holly Angel was created and in the mail about 12 hours later, and I did receive her before Christmas. There is something special about Farida Dowler, and there is something magical about her dolls. I felt a visceral connection when I first held Holly Angel in my hand. This doll will be a gift, but I will soon be purchasing my own Alkekda Doll. Thank you, Farida Dowler.
Alkelda Dolls is a shop devoted to dolls for storytelling, display, and creative play.
Like Goldie in M.B. Goffstein's Goldie the Dollmaker, I devote time and care with each doll. Every doll I send out into the world has its own personal story. In keeping with the diversity of the Earth's population, my dolls display a range of skin-tones, hair hues and eye colors.
Here is the Indie Artist Spotlight of Alkelda Dolls that Jama's Alphabet Soup featured in June 2013:
I am honored when you decide to bring one of my dolls into your home. I enjoy hearing from people, too. Please feel welcome to send me a note about the stories and dolls in your lives.
Owner, Maker, Designer
I sew dolls, tell stories, and play guitar(s). I live with my husband and daughter in Seattle, Washington, USA.
I craft each of my creations by hand, with high quality natural materials like wool and cotton. I use some wool-rayon blends too (rayon is wood-based). In keeping with the diversity of the Earth's population, my nature table figures display a range of skin-tones, hair hues and eye colors. I am honored when you decide to bring one of my dolls into your home.
