About

Hi Ho Hi Ho - A Crafting We Will Go...

I've been working at home since 2000, right before my daughter was born a few weeks early. The plan was to go back to the office, but that didn't work out as we came to realize she had some issues beyond the normal baby stuff. Eventually, about 18 months, we got her autism diagnosis. Daycare was out. Work at home was in.

I've been working for the same small software company since 1989. I have been lucky enough to be able to do tech support and other technical work from home while I see my daughter through school, therapy, doctor appointments, etc. Happily, she is doing quite well now, all things considered.

After living at the computer for my work, and basically not being able to leave the house for years (other than her issues), I needed a creative outlet. She got older and I was able to do more, starting with beadwork and jewelry creation, and then getting back into crocheting and learning to knit. I've even started sewing again, something I'd given up after making our renaissance style wedding clothes way back when.

And here I am now...running two Etsy shops, working full time, working with my daughter, making sure my husband isn't completely ignored, and still making time for reading, online gaming, gardening and the occasional movie.

This was my last big sewing project - I made our wedding clothes. I just started sewing again this year - so it took a while to get over the wedding sewing PTSD.

Shop policies

Last updated on August 8, 2013
This shop is the result of what happens when a love of crafting exceeds what one can reasonably give away as presents. I like to dabble with many things. My jewelry items are in my other shop, Design by Alladania (http://www.etsy.com/shop/DesignsbyAlladania?ref=si_shop). Here are those other things that I couldn't resist crafting.

I'm addicted to yarn and ribbons and fabrics. I can't help myself. I like to make pretty things with lovely colors and inviting textures. I haven't done much machine sewing since making my Renaissance style wedding dress with hoop skirt - kind of got sewing PTSD for a while, but making flowers and hats and scarves and little bags is just the right indulgence for me.

All items are made in a smoke free home. We don't have cats or other pets (as we don't count our daughter's imaginary friends). We do have one short hair dog (chihuahua/terrier mix). She doesn't help with the crafting, but her 'dogginess' is in the air.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Money Order
Payment
I now accept direct checkout through Etsy as well as through Paypal. If you're not able to pay within 5 days, please let me know if you need more time or I will have to relist the item. I will convo you a reminder before relisting. I do have to charge sales tax to Colorado residents.

Note: You can pay using Paypal without having a Paypal account. Here's how: http://www.etsy.com/help/article/361

I will accept payment via money order. The item will not ship until payment is received.
Shipping
Important! If your Paypal address and Etsy address don't match, I cannot ship until I get a written confirmation from you of the correct address.

I make every effort to ship the item the next day the post office is open. In case of unforseen circumstances, I do promise to ship with 4 days of payment just to cover myself for holiday weekends.

I ship soft items wrapped carefully in tissue paper and placed inside bubble wrap envelopes. Other pieces are padded with bubble wrap or other packing materials and shipped securely in appropriate boxes. I do try to reuse boxes when possible, but only those that are secure and in ship-worthy condition.

International shipments are sent via USPS 1st Class Mail in secure packaging.

All shipments are sent with delivery confirmation where that service is available.

Any customs charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

I try to price shipping as accurately as possible. If it ends up too out of whack, I will refund appropriately.
Refunds and Exchanges
While I hope that you always love the pieces you purchase, I understand that sometimes the color might be different in person or a hat might not fit quite right. Because I want happy customers, please contact me and let's talk about it. In general, undamaged items may be returned for store credit with the buyer paying the return shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
I can often do custom items. If you like something but would really like it in another color, convo me and I'll let you know if it's something I can do. I'm happy to create a custom order if it's possible. At this point I have a huge stash of yarns, trims, and miscellaneous crafting lovelies. Delivery time for custom items depends on what is being ordered. If a custom item is comparable to something I already offer and I have the color and materials at hand, it will generally be about the same price.

Unless you are ordering a custom piece, the picture shown is the item you will get. All of the pictures show items that have already been created and are ready to ship and waiting for their new homes.
