Hi Ho Hi Ho - A Crafting We Will Go...
I've been working at home since 2000, right before my daughter was born a few weeks early. The plan was to go back to the office, but that didn't work out as we came to realize she had some issues beyond the normal baby stuff. Eventually, about 18 months, we got her autism diagnosis. Daycare was out. Work at home was in.
I've been working for the same small software company since 1989. I have been lucky enough to be able to do tech support and other technical work from home while I see my daughter through school, therapy, doctor appointments, etc. Happily, she is doing quite well now, all things considered.
After living at the computer for my work, and basically not being able to leave the house for years (other than her issues), I needed a creative outlet. She got older and I was able to do more, starting with beadwork and jewelry creation, and then getting back into crocheting and learning to knit. I've even started sewing again, something I'd given up after making our renaissance style wedding clothes way back when.
And here I am now...running two Etsy shops, working full time, working with my daughter, making sure my husband isn't completely ignored, and still making time for reading, online gaming, gardening and the occasional movie.

Owner, Designer, Maker
This was my last big sewing project - I made our wedding clothes. I just started sewing again this year - so it took a while to get over the wedding sewing PTSD.
I'm addicted to yarn and ribbons and fabrics. I can't help myself. I like to make pretty things with lovely colors and inviting textures. I haven't done much machine sewing since making my Renaissance style wedding dress with hoop skirt - kind of got sewing PTSD for a while, but making flowers and hats and scarves and little bags is just the right indulgence for me.
All items are made in a smoke free home. We don't have cats or other pets (as we don't count our daughter's imaginary friends). We do have one short hair dog (chihuahua/terrier mix). She doesn't help with the crafting, but her 'dogginess' is in the air.

I ship soft items wrapped carefully in tissue paper and placed inside bubble wrap envelopes. Other pieces are padded with bubble wrap or other packing materials and shipped securely in appropriate boxes.
