About

About my work and my shop's name "alleluja"

Hello! My name is Sawako Hayakawa.
I'm creating at a suburb of Tokyo. I make the ceramic pincushion mainly.
I like both porcelain soil and raw wool as materials, also like digging and filling something as works. When I put them all together, they become pincushions. Most of them are so tiny and just so cute.

My shop's name "alleluja" was taken from the hero in a movie titled " Testa t'ammazzo, croce... sei morte... Mi chiamano Alleluja". Alleluja was my special hero when I was child. He was so smart, tough and cute. I was absolutely entranced by his various weird gadgets. I love Alleluja's special gun in the shape of a sewing machine even now :)

I like music, movies and cats. I get inspiration for my works from them all. I have not been a vast traveler in my lifetime. However, I visited a lot of places by watching the movies or listening music. Such experiences also give me a lot of inspiration.

All pieces are handmade by me. So, they are all different each other. I think I have pursued so-called "kawaii" in my own way. If you will find your fave one in my shop, I will be so happy!

Thank you :)
