Your story in one sentence.

I once worked as a production assistant for an artist and accessories designer whose pieces were carried by Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Her media at the time included glazed porcelain and fine garment leathers. Working in her shop influenced my own exploration into manipulating leather (starting with scraps from our workshop!), and I began constructing belts, buttons and "beads" made into necklaces and earrings of my own design.

My primary career—which I totally LOVED—was as a an art educator. Later I had a second, short career as a proofreader, & copyeditor. Now retired, I'm no less busy, it seems. At heart, I am a teacher, seeker, & maker of things—a constant craftsperson.

  • Phoebe

    Canine Assistant

She's a wonderful pet but lacks something in the "assistance" department where my shop is concerned. I often find her sleeping on the job, but she keeps us all safe and protects her food and biscuits with great enthusiasm.

  • Cheeky

    Feline Assistant

Cheeky "pretends" to pack items for the shop. If she weren't so cute . . . well, never mind!

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
I prefer PayPal payment in US Dollars and accept major credit cards through Etsy Direct Checkout.
You do not need a PayPal Account to pay for your items through PayPal — all you need to do is select the PayPal option during check out. After you submit your order, click the "Pay Now" button. Scroll down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card. You will not be required to open a PayPal account. Easy-peasy!
I ship using the lowest shipping rate available. This will usually be either First Class Mail (for items under 13 ounces packaged) and Parcel Post for items weighing 13 ounces and up. Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping will be used when it saves the customer money.

If you want the item sooner and wish to pay the difference in postage, I'll happily accommodate you if you choose Priority Mail shipping. Just convo me.

The rate quoted is for shipping from the Eastern US to the West Coast. If your shipping destination is somewhere in between, I may be able to ship your item for less than the price quoted. Please convo me with your zip code if you'd like me to check on lower shipping rates prior to purchase.

If you've already paid by PayPal, I'll gladly refund any overage back to your account if the shipping is less than the amount you've paid.

I'm happy to combine multiple purchases into one package for you. (Combined shipping Most items will be shipped via USPS within 2 business days of cleared PayPal payment. I use First Class for items up to 13 ounces, packaged, Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, Parcel Post or regular Priority Mail for oversize packages.
All shipping charges are quoted to ZIP code 98862 (Washington State). If you live nearer and want a new shipping quote based on your actual location, please contact me. Otherwise I will refund shipping overages of $1 or more. Promise!

If you need an item shipped faster than USPS First Class mail, please contact me PRIOR to purchase so that I can adjust your invoice.
Payment must be made in full and have cleared before the item is shipped. If an item is not paid for within 3 days of purchase, the sale will be canceled and the item re-listed. Please convo me if your payment will be delayed.

In an effort to apply an eco-friendly way of life to my business, I use as much post-consumer recycled packaging as possible. This doesn't affect the safety of your purchase in transit. You won't really know the difference and it helps keep certain materials out of the landfill.
Refunds and Exchanges
I love happy customers and I want *you* to be happy with your purchase! Please convo me if your expectations really weren't met. I'm easy to work with and pride myself in being flexible under most circumstances.

If you are really unhappy with your purchase, you must contact me within 5 days of receipt to arrange for a return and refund. Shipping costs will not be refunded and the buyer will be responsible for return shipping costs. All items must be returned in the same condition in which they were sent.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most of my handmade items have not been recently made. They are my own work created by my own hands but they were made another lifetime ago—when I was a struggling artisan trying to find my artistic niche—and have been very carefully stored.

The majority of my pieces are first quality, with an occasional "second" in the mix. Each piece has been handpicked by me and meticulously examined in order to determine whether it has any flaws, damage or imperfections prior to putting it in my shop. I will sell only items that I would be proud to own myself.

If you'd like to see additional photos or want clarification about the condition of an item, get in touch. I'm convo-friendly and always happy to give you more information if you need it.
