Hi! I'm Allison, I live in Philly and I paint for fun. I started painting as a stress reliever when I was teaching full time and I got more and more into it. I started pulling images from magazines and painting interiors where I liked the colors, furniture, shapes and composition and I simplified and adjusted the colors and cropping for the painting. I also photograph nature and some images lend themselves to be made into paintings, like my birds series with borders and my tree branches series in different colors. I'm always trying new things.

Prints are available for any painting in my shop, just look for the print size you are interested in and leave a note about which image you'd like at that size.

The prints are made professionally at my favorite Philly small printers, Silicon Gallery on 3rd Street, by Katie, with the following materials:

Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm 100% cotton rag: A smooth bright white 100% rag based paper specifically designed to meet the need of artists using digital photographic output. The heavier 308 gsm paper provides the weight of an art paper with a smooth calendered surface, which picks up every detail captured in
the original painting.

Epson 9600 Pigment: Pigments are tiny particles that come suspended in the solvent--they aren't dissolved. Pigment inks tend to be more expensive than dye inks, but they are much more lightfast and chemically stable. Lifetimes are estimated at 80 to 200 or more years.

If you'd like a different paper, there are many available. Just send me an e-mail(allison.ostertag@gmail.com) or hit the contact button.

I try to reduce any waste by reusing envelopes, labels, packing materials and not sending a paper receipt with shipments (you can print yours out online). So if your photograph arrives in a package with a blacked out label on the side, you know it is traveling through the mail for the second time!

Shipping
I ship paintings via FedEx Ground in boxes (with recycled materials when I have them). Prints are shipped in envelopes sandwiched between two painting panels which you can use or upcycle when you get them. I found this was the most economical way to ship and assure prints are not bent in transit, but let me know if you have a different idea! I'm always looking to reduce waste and cost to save you money.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unhappy for any reason, let me know. I'd love to make it up to you in an exchange, refund, replacement. Your business is very important to me so contact me at allison.ostertag [!at] gmail.com
