Gorgeous, feather-light shawl/scarf! The subtly shaded colours glow, the fine stitch makes this a glamorous garment yet warm, snuggle and very easy to wear - a beautiful handcrafted piece.

A really, really lovely scarf. The colors are stunning in real life (not that they didn't look pretty in the photos)- this was made with beautiful fiber/yarn. And I just started knitting, but to my untrained eyes, this scarf looks impeccably knitted with not a stitch dropped or lumpy. I haven't worn it yet, but I can't wait until the weather gets colder and I can wear it with a gray or tan coat and let the colors shine.

About

How Alonalona came into being?

The name is a derivation of my own name - an old friend nicknamed me Alonalona and it stuck.

I had a habit of giving scarves to friends for Christmas and birthdays and someone said I should start to sell them so I did in around 2002 - in 2008 I heard about this wonderful entity called Etsy and the rest is history so they say...

Welcome to my online scarferie!

I love to work with natural yarns where I can looking at unusual colour combinations and textures; working with different wool types, silks, recycled sari silks. Recently I discovered a Japanese yarn made with tree bark which I'm very excited about.

I like to make functional pieces which are easy to keep and look beautiful.
