Several years ago, I made several church banners for my local church. People really liked them and many kept encouraging me to design, make and sell banners to other churches. So, I eventually created several designs and sold banners all over the world through my own custom website (web design being my primary business at the time) for several years.

During that time, I discovered that one of my fabric suppliers sold paper alphabet patterns which cost $10 - $20 for a set, depending on the size of the letters. I quickly realized 3 things: 1) I thought that was expensive for a paper pattern, 2) I had already created my own paper patterns which I used to create plastic stencils for use when making my banners, 3) I could create PDF files of alphabet patterns that can be printed over and over and sell them for much less than the $10 - $20 for a single set that could get worn out and then thrown out.

That's when AlphabetPatterns.com was conceived and born. I created and sold reusable Alphabet Patterns in the form of PDF files which can be printed and used again and again. With my alphabet “epatterns”, anyone can easily and quickly create alphabet templates for tracing and cutting out letters over and over, or print the pattern for each use or whenever they need or want a fresh pattern! They are great time-savers and perfect for creating templates of letters, words and phrases for all sorts of craft projects. Simply cut out the printed letter patterns and use them as templates to trace letters onto objects, paper, fabric, wood or other craft materials. You can also use the negative cutouts as stencils for painting letters on walls, floors, fabric, tile, glass, furniture, vehicles and any other paint-able surface.

My “epatterns” became very popular among teachers and student, mothers and grandmothers, banner makers and other crafters for quilting, applique and all sorts of fabric and paper crafts. Many also purchased them for woodworking, sign making and such things as painting a name on their boat! For many years, AlphabetPattersn.com was the only webstore I could find where you could get downloadable Alphabet Patterns in over 170 fonts and shapes and in 5 different sizes that could be printed again and again for a low cost per set, regardless of its size.

But then. . . In 2014, my career moved in another direction, away from web design, and due to the maintenance needs and overhead costs of running the website, I decided to retire the AlphabetPatterns.com webstore in the Spring of 2018, but NOT the products. I hated the thought of putting away the patterns and decided to give Etsy a try. I only have a few fonts available here right now, but will be adding more as time goes on, with the goal of eventually having the entire collection available if all goes well.
