I LOVE, LOVE everything about Al's work. He's amazing. His products are so original as they are handcrafted and painted. This is my 2nd time to buy from him and he his extremely friendly, professional and prompt. I bought an orange cat planter 3 yrs ago and through all the rain, humidity, cold and summer, it is still in tip-top shape. I couldn't be a bigger fan :) Thank you,Al, for bringing such talent into this world!!

About

Al'sWoodenWhims, Whimsickle Woodworking Ideas. Planter box designs

Alan,
Started his home garage work shop a couple years after a crippling stroke. Now forced into retirement. Permanently disabled directs his thoughts on happier things and ideas. Sitting at home wasn't for him. A life long hobby with wood working, drawing, coloring and painting . A creative idea (Whim) came to mind, so started drawing animal figures and painting them. After a short spell of lawn animal figures for the lawn, evolved into making planter boxes in the shapes of animals. Becoming a useful item around the home or work place.
A small family business in the earlier years was making wooden planters with his parents for area florists, flower shops and nurserys. So Alan had some experiance in the wood working field and floral field. Planning and making these planters up in the family workshop after school.
Now that the folks are long retired Alan had decided to carry on the family ideas only in a home work shop way and at a slower pace. Having Acquired the tools. Started working up his ideas and getting the wheels turning again.
The long days go better now since Alan has gotten himself something creative to do. And really enjoys going to craft shows when able, watching and listening to the peoples interesting comments and chuckles as they look at his creations.
