Quando altre bambine giocavano con le bambole barbie, io giocavo con i tesori polverosi e vintage che i miei nonni avevano raccolto nel corso degli anni. In verità, erano ratti da branco. Tenevano quasi tutto ciò che possedevano e lo nascondevano nei vari capannoni di stoccaggio (o scuolabus che avevano acquistato alle aste) nella loro fattoria. Sono grato di quei bei ricordi perché, in retrospettiva, sono la ragione per cui creo oggetti riciclati oggi. Quei giorni trascorsi nella loro fattoria mi hanno insegnato il valore degli oggetti che la maggior parte delle persone etichetta come inutili. Utilizzare un oggetto che altrimenti verrebbe scartato e dargli nuovo valore agli occhi di qualcun altro è la mia motivazione principale dietro la mia attività.
When other little girls were playing with barbie dolls, I was playing with dusty, vintage treasures that my grandparents had collected over the years. In truth, they were pack rats. They kept almost everything they ever owned and stashed it away in the various storage sheds (or school buses they had purchased at auctions) on their farm. I am grateful of those fond memories because in retrospect, they are the reason I create upcycled items today. Those days spent on their farm taught me the value of items most people label as useless. To use an item that would otherwise be discarded and give it new value in the eyes of someone else is my main motivation behind my business.
