Announcement   When I was laid off for 6 months in 2007 I looked for inexpensive craft projects to keep myself busy. I started with purses made from men's ties. The idea of recycling old ties fit with my environmentally conscious lifestyle so it was a great fit. I've moved on to bags made from pillowcases, skirts, curtains and anything else I can fit under the needle of my sewing machine. All items are made from primarily recycled materials.

If there is a style you like but not the color let me know, I may have just the thing waiting to be photographed or sewn. I don't always show the tie purses on my website because most are custom orders made from the ties of someone special in their life. If you would like a purse made from ties that have special meaning for you please send me a 'convo'. I can accomodate most requests.

I hope you find the purses and bags as much fun as I do.

If you would like an item shipped out of the country please let me know and I will get a shipping cost for you.

Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are welcome.

I am happy to make a bag out of your ties, skirts, shirts, etc. Please send me a convo telling me what you have and I'll let you know if I can work with it. Items should be washed prior to shipping them to me.

If you don't see what you want please send me a convo. I truly have more items to sew than time to sew. Chances are I have something you will like.

If I sew something special for you there is no obligation to purchase it unless I say so in advance. I will list it as RESERVED for 3 days (longer if you ask). After that time I will post it for the general public. Please let me know promptly if you decide not to purchase.

I work solely with recycled materials. I am not opposed to using new materials but I just don't see the need to when there are so many good fabrics in thrift stores and at garage or tag sales. If you want something made with new materials I will make it but it must be paid for in advance (and new materials cost more than recycled).
