Announcement    North County native Amanda Oswald paints and creates art from her home in Vista, Ca. Inspired by real life, her cats, nature, dreams, and playing with paint and textures, Oswald’s colorful acrylic paintings and mixed media creations entertain and delight viewers of all ages.

“It is amazing the opportunities that have come up and the doors that have opened by following my passion and doing what I love every day,” Oswald said. After deciding to pursue art full-time last fall, Oswald said she is blessed and fortunate to have the love and support of her husband, family, and friends that allows her to pursue art. “Art and painting give me life and release stress – a kind of therapy for me. Painting helps me extract emotions and energies that are locked up. With a few exceptions, I start most of my work with no plan in mind, and just the brush or palette knife work like a surgeon, cutting ideas and colors out of me and putting them onto a canvas.”

Recent exhibitions by Amanda Oswald include the 2018 San Diego County Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, “Contemporary Realism” at the Escondido Arts Municipal Gallery, Oceanside Days of Art, solo and group art shows at Backfence Society, Inc., Oceanside First Friday Art Walk, “Art That Cuts” at Mesa College, and the most recent, a solo exhibition “PIECES” at the Vista Library up now through December 29, 2018.

About

Art fulfills the Soul

I am a Southern California native. I love the beach, reading, music, painting and creating. I try to paint every day other wise I go a little stir crazy. I have always loved art and right now my favorite artist is David Hockney, and another favorite artist is Matisse. I've also recently discovered how much I love reading Art related fiction and non-fiction books. I love sharing my passion for art with you and hope you enjoy it too.
