    About ambika

    Sales 502
    On Etsy since 2007

Jewelry and sewn goods handmade in the rain shadow of the Cascades.

There's a very do-it-yourself nature to the Pacific Northwest. Whether making beer, stringing polished stones on wire, or growing vegetables, the culture here embraces the idea of handmade.

Having grown up here, it never occurred to me I shouldn't sew my own clothes, make jewelry for myself and my friends, or participate in any of the number of things that encompass doing for yourself: helping out with the annual wine crush, brewing beer with my partner, taking a cheesemaking class, growing herbs.

While my brown thumb means I don't help out so much in the garden, my love of making things was given a wonderful outlet through Etsy. My shop is the means by which I share the things I make--whether a lace embellished fabric case, or a sparkly pair of earrings.

I come by the things you'll see here through any number of ways: thrifting disintegrating necklaces, inheriting hand-crocheted lace, or buying beads and stones from some of the shops you'll find on Etsy yourself.
