About

Here's a little about me and amelia zane...

Hi,

I'm Famida and I'm the designer behind amelia zane.

I was born in the beautiful lush green valleys of Assam, North East India and grew up in East London. I am really inspired by the traditional folk/tribal jewellery of the region and my pieces use bold colour and quirky style to create a playful, contemporary boho chic look. All brought together with a generous sprinkle of techni-colour.

amelia zane brings together my love of design and the part it plays on inspiring the way we choose to live our lives. My pieces are made to be tactile and emotive, lifting the spirits through colour, texture and mood.

amelia zane jewellery is lovingly handmade in my East London studio using a selection of materials such as; polymer clay, eco-friendly wood, plated metal, fabric and leather. I design beads which are 3D printed by the wonderful people at www.lee3d.co.uk who are also based in London.

I like to keep it local!

A little more about me...

I am a graduate of Architecture and a Diploma in Accessories Design at the London College of Fashion, followed by a career in Marketing. During which I worked closely with the British Fashion Industry and a number of fashion accessory designers.

I believe amelia zane jewellery is designed to be experienced and enjoyed, because over time just like any of our treasured possessions...they soon become etched with our special memories.

So, thank you for visiting the shop and I hope you've enjoyed looking at the jewellery!

Additional policies and FAQs
All amelia zane jewellery is handmade. We use a variety of materials, including silver plated and gold plated chains, silver plated and gold plated components, clasps and beads. Depending on the piece, we also use a variety of other metal components, and beads inlcuding semi-precious stones, natural freshwater pearls, wooden, shell and vine beads.

Please be aware that silver/gold plated items will have been stated as nickel safe by the manufacturer/supplier of the items.

At amelia zane we use some precious stones and pearls that have been dyed. As these are natural stones, some fading may occur. We recommend that you don’t store your semi precious jewellery in direct sunlight to help minimise any fading.

In addition, small amounts of dye can sometimes be trapped in natural grooves within the stones. To minimise the risk of transfer onto skin and clothes, we recommend that amelia zane jewellery avoids contact with oil, water, sweat, or chemicals in perfumes.

amelia zane jewellery can be cleaned with a soft cloth, especially if it has been in contact with sweat, water, chlorine, perfume or hairspray. Any tarnish on silver plated or gold plated components can be polished off with a soft jewellery cloth.
