About

From linocuts to textile design

Amelie Mancini has a background in painting but has always loved making things with her hands. She picked up printmaking a few years ago when she decided to make her own baseball cards, which turned into Left Field Cards, a collection of baseball cards and tees that she has been running for a few years. She really enjoyed making linocuts and was looking for new ways to incorporate art in everyday objects so she decided to print some new designs on fabric. She started with a few tea towels and napkins and then expanded her line to a variety of pouches, wallets, eyeglass cases and bags.

Her patterns show her love for the botanical realm and have a south west and west coast feel. Her love for all things cacti, ferns and succulents shines through her design style. She begins by drawing a pattern on paper and carving it onto a block of linoleum. She then prints a few proofs and scans them to create a repeating pattern, which she burns onto a screen. She hand screen prints, cuts, and sews all her fabrics in her studio with the help of her team, Dani, Erica and Helena.

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

Linens: Wash by hand or machine on a delicate/cold setting. Ink is wash-fast and will not bleed. Hang to dry, or tumble dry low. Iron if desired. The fabric will get softer & more absorbent after the first wash.

Leather & suede: These items should be treated with a weather-resistant spray to ensure a longer life. Stains and dirt spots should be cleaned with the appropriate leather & suede soaps. Oil-tan leather straps can be conditioned with mink oil or leather conditioner.

Canvas: The inside of our bags can get a bit dirty with use - if needed, feel free to spot-clean those areas with fabric erasers or gentle soap, staying clear of the leather parts.

*Over time and with regular use all materials will age and soften.
