My Etsy shop is full of exciting art and gifts for holidays and for
family, friends and give yourself a gift too!
The winter we knew was coming, arrived late this year but is in full force now with snow and solid cold. winter brings good things, a cozy studio upstairs, warm woodstoves, with cats stretched out happily basking in the heat. I love the the brilliant light that comes from sun on new snow. The sounds of nature are nourishing to me and it is quiet after a snowfall and the blanket of snow muffles many sounds. Now is the time I can enjoy the quiet time in my studio as the snow softly falls out the window. It is beautiful outdoors too as I take care of my pony, Star and Vanilla my senior llama. The snow sticks to the tress and the fence and Star like to prance through it as well as roll and roll again!
My husband remains in a nursing home in spite of how much I want him home. I feel sad thinking of our many Christmases together. We will still be together that day. I am grateful he is cared for and nearby so I can visit everyday.
I am so glad to have you checking in to my shop. Visit my website for updates and places to purchase my art as well as my blog and tutorials.
Please allow extra time when ordering as the mail gets slow and I may run out of some items and need to contact you.
It is late to purchase clothing and get it in time for Christmas but most my other items will be available. Express shipping is available but very expensive...

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful fabric piece! Will use it to sew up a journal cover. Fair price for a piece of fabric that is unusual and printed from an original artist-made batik. I love batiks and this artist has gorgeous designs. Purchased 5 so far!

5 out of 5 starsThis is a beautiful piece of batik art. I bought two different fabric prints, which I sewed together to make a bag for a special set of tarot cards. Please be aware that this is a printing off an original piece, not the batik work itself. However, the printing is of good quality, and the artwork is still exceptional. Thank you!

I like to dye outdoors, not too far from my home.

Chaos is readily available in the upstairs studio.

Here I am ironing out in the summer, out on the porch enjoying the flowers and seeing my cow and llama while I work.

Farm girl meets the Internet
The first big challenge for me was that having worked on a farm for 30something years, I was tuned into animals, plants, fencing, nature and had no experience with computers! It was a slow process learning, complicated by the fact that our Internet connection was very poor.
I met a young woman in nearby Glens Falls, New York, Kate Austin-Avon, who has exceptional patience and skills who helped me learn how to set up my Etsy shop, prepare and upload images, set up a newsletter, website and more.
The other challenge was organizing my day. On the farm my day was pre scheduled to care for the animals with a mid day break in which projects and household needs could be worked on. (I still work on farms but not full time and they are not mine, but I still enjoy working with animals).

I grew up in New England and attended Massachusetts College of Art. Then I fell in love with batik and my husband Richard, who whisked me away to a dairy farm in upstate New York. Many beautiful sights inspire my farmscape batik.
