About

I have found my place.

One year for Christmas my dad bought me a very large set of the cutest, most colorful plastic beads. I was always making something out of them -- to the point that, if I remember correctly, I used almost every single one. I remember shiny plastic yellow bananas and adorable translucent star beads. I would make lists of my inventory and beg my dad to let me sell my wares yard-sale style in front of our house.

In April of 2012 I graduated from Oakland University with a degree in journalism. I was working a full-time job but found myself with a luxury I had not had while working and attending school: a surplus of free time.

I dug out my one box full of beads, wires, and other supplies, and started creating again. I had seen images of nautical knot bracelets on Tumblr and Pinterest and couldn't help but think "Hey, I could totally make those!"

After hunting down different sorts of rope and scouring the Internet for tutorials on different knots, I slowly started adding to my meager 20 items I had listed on Etsy.

One year later I'm at over 500 items, I've created loads of custom orders for weddings and different events, my single box of supplies has turned into 10. And I just absolutely love every moment of it all. My Etsy shop and Etsy in general has brought nothing but happiness into my life. I love creating pieces for people all over the world, and I take so much pride in my work that I have a connection with each piece I drop in the mail. The thought of someone receiving something from me and it making them smile or feel positive in any way -- that's a really great feeling.

With this shop I strive to bring a personal touch to the shopping experience, I believe that's one of the aspects Etsy best facilitates. I also love working with people who request custom orders as more often than not they offer me another option to sell as a regular item in my shop.

Crafting is always something I've done in phases throughout my life, and I'm happy that this "phase" doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon.
