I originally started this shop to help me raise money for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in 2012.

Thanks to the generous support of my family, friends, and customers, I was able to raise $1,900. That money will help with breast cancer research, education, screenings, and treatment, regardless of an individual's ability to pay.

One June 2nd and 3rd, 2012, I participated in the Chicago Walk, making it 38 of the 39.3 miles. It was an incredible experience, and worth all the foot pain involved!

Once the walk was over, I wasn't sure what to do with my shop, and I closed it for a while. I realized that I needed more of a niche to focus my creative efforts and make my products more marketable. I started spending a lot of time sewing and refashioning clothes. I made a few men's t-shirts into superhero dresses for my daughter, and I realized that it was just the sort of project I was looking for.

Though I have no specific plans to do the Avon Walk again, I will still donate 10% of all proceeds from my sales to the walk. It is a cause that is important to me, as it has affected several women in my family.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me!
