Here I am choosing some drawings for later incorporation into a Painting.
My shop and my passion, Art
I live in a small town in a beautiful island called Tenerife, Canary Islands, where there is a large volcano which is the highest mountain in Spain. This volcano, which many call the father Teide, for its impressive height and presence on the island. My studio and home are located in a rural setting. Behind me is the mountain, where I hear the goats graze and rainy days I smell of moss and eucalyptus and also at sea algae.
When I get up in the morning, first thing I see is the sea. I have a privileged view from my study. Then I open the computer that is what I call, my window to the world. Where I connect with another reality, more urban, more dynamic. I look if I have mail, if there are orders, check my Etsy shop, statistics, etc.. I do my English class. Then I make breakfast, which always consists of bread with olive oil, and an infusion of mint or other herbs and honey.
Until that moment, my day is more or less orderly. From there, everything becomes a bit chaotic. These are my daily tasks, painting, photography, to digital prints, go to the post office to ship orders, and countless more tasks related to the shop and my passion, art.
I love anything creative. I have painted on many objects, from furniture, walls, etc. I have worked with many different materials and techniques. Mixed media techniques.
I am a very curious person and I am always researching new things. Many ideas in my head that bubble to get out. I enjoy both so I do!.
When I'm painting, I let go of me intuitively, I do not make preliminary sketches, but I developed the painting, incorporating characters and colors, to me is dictating my subconscious. I paint in a sort of trance, a state of maximum concentration, so that when I finish, then I do not remember the whole process, I've painted before or after. That's where all the feelings that emerge are reflected in my works. Stories of my childhood, my family, all told with a bit of nostalgia. I like to mix old and new.
I always like to suggest, not to reveal all the story behind each work so that the viewer completes the work with their own experiences. Most of the time, I do not know the whole story, for me too hide secrets.
I like to work fast, and so the work has freshness, spontaneity.
