I'm on a journey, so come take a walk with me.

My name is Ivy and I have had the pleasure of owning An Altered State of Mind for nearly 3 years now. I created this business hoping to fund my creativity and inspire my 3 children to reach for their dreams and it quickly grew into a full time career. I never could have imagined coming so far, or feeling so proud. Every time I get a sale, my phone makes a Cha-ching sound, and not far behind, are my children shouting "Whoo-Hoo!"

I have always been a unique person with a vibrant personality. My creativity and inspiration is sparked by my childhood and perusing various thrift stores, garage sales and auctions with my grandmother.

As you browse, you may notice the eclectic variety of items. I have never really followed what's trendy or what the newest must have is. Instead, I create my items based off what ever has currently inspired me. I love exploring new techniques, art styles and making what feels right. I love telling stories with my art and taking my customers on a journey. I also seek out vintage items that I find unique, unusual or interesting, to fill my shop.

Custom and personalized orders

I do take commissions and personalized orders. While I do need to be allowed a certain amount of artistic freedom for certain items, there must also be excellent communication with the buyer to ensure I am making it to their liking. If there is trouble communicating, slow response times etc. The order will be canceled. I also require a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit on custom items, this helps to cover any material costs as well as the time to make the item. Processing time will vary by project. Some could take a day or two others could take weeks. Cost will be based on what the project entails and agreed upon before work begins.

What if an item arrives damaged?

In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged, Please notify me within 48 hours of receipt with photos of the damages. As a general rule, I do not give refunds for damages.

You will need to file a damaged package claim through USPS either online or by requesting a form. You will need photos of any damages, the shipping container, all labels on the box and your receipt. DO NOT THROW AWAY DAMAGED ITEMS! You must comply with any additional instructions USPS provides.

If a claim is denied, you will have to file an appeal. If you need help filing your claim, please do not hesitate to ask and I will help any way I can.

Vintage items

Please be aware that all of my vintage items are of unknown providence, material, and metal content. I advise that antique metal and/or painted plates, dishes, containers, etc. be used for decoration only and not to hold food products. As well, please be aware that some plastics are highly flammable, and that vintage plastic jewelry should be kept away from heat sources. Please read any warning labels and do research before use of an item. I am not responsible for any harm or damages that may result from use of my products.

All vintage items are in used condition and may have signs of wear and use, please see item description for details.

Unless otherwise stated, please assume the item is not meant for children.

Delays/Missing items

I am in no way affiliated with USPS and have zero control over when or how your package is delivered.

Once an item is dropped off at the post office, it is out of my hands. Please remember that many things including weather, holidays, and the pandemic can cause shipping delays.

An item stuck in transit is NOT the same as a package not being delivered. If there has been no movement for 5 or more days from the shipping date, I can file a missing package claim. This usually gets things moving.

I DO NOT offer refunds for delays.

Packages are not considered lost until after 30 days. At that point an insurance claim must be filed through USPS.

Missing packages

Although very rare, occasionally an item may get lost in transit. A package is not considered lost until after 30 days of no movement. In the event this happens, an insurance claim must be filed with USPS for a missing package. This is the buyer's responsibility. I will assist in anyway I can with filling out the form or providing a purchase receipt.

If you item is marked as delivered but you did not receive it you can try:
1. Waiting 24 hours, sometimes they arrive the next day.
2. Check with your neighbors
3. Contact your local P.O., they can provide more detailed tracking
4. Contact your local authorities to file a police report stolen mail, then your local P.O. to file a claim

I do not give refunds for stolen packages.

Returned to sender/wrong address entered at checkout

Any items that are left undelivered and returned to me for ANY reason are eligible for a refund, less the shipping cost, as long as they are not damaged. Any items that are returned damaged are not eligible for a refund of any kind.

It is the buyers responsibility to double check the address they have entered. If Etsy has an issue with how the address is entered I will shorten the name/street address etc as needed. If it is something more, I will contact the buyer. They will have 24 hours to respond or the order will be cancelled.

If a buyer realizes after purchase that they have the wrong address on file, they will need to message me to cancel the order, then reorder and enter the correct shipping address
