Welcome to my store!

I'd like to talk about the materials I use so that you, the buyer, will buy with 100% confidence.

Metals:
Sterling silver - .925 sterling silver

Gold filled - 14 k Gold filled meaning a process of heat and pressure fuse 14k gold onto a strong base metal. This process applies a thick layer of gold, making the color more durable and wearable than any other of the gold metals. It is also the most expensive of the three.

Vermeil- A layer of gold (most often 14k) is layered over sterling silver (most often .925 silver) to form a gold color. This metal is costly because of the weight of silver and gold that it carries but can turn darker due to the tarnishing of the underlayer of silver. A quick fix is to gently polish vermeil pieces with a silver polish cloth but do not apply any chemicals such as silver cleaner or you will risk rubbing away the gold layer. Be gantle when cleaning and you will restore the original color.

Gold plated- The cheapest of the gold colored metals and also the shorest color life span. This is a process in which a very thin layer (usually less than 1/1000th of an inch) of gold (most often 14k) is applied to a cheaper base metal (most often brass). I seldom use this metal because I want my customers to wear my designs for years to come. This is a drastically cheaper alternative to gold filled or vermeil, so please carefully read descriptions when making jewelry purchasess on other sites.

Color:

I use a variety of materials to incorporate color into my designs.

Semi-Precious stone: Semi-Precious is a class of natural stone, one mined from the earth, that are not classed as a gemstone. Included in this category are garnets, aquamarine, citrine, apatite, amethyst, carnelian, peridot, lapis, and other stones, even diamonds. The classification of semi-precious is more to do with quality of the natural stone than the natural composition of the stone.

Quartz: a mineral consisting of silicone dioxide. Can be produced in many colors.

Hydro quartz: A mineral formed by percipitation from a very hot fluid. Many versions of quartz are also heat treated to enhance color. A vast majority of stones sold in the U.S. are hydro thermal. The process will imitate the natural color of a precious stone.

Minerals: I use various other minerals in my designs including jade, dyed jade and onyx

Pearls:
All of my natural pearls are freshwater grade. I use pearl-like Swarovski crystals in some of my bridal designs. The freshwater pearls I use are imperfectly round.

Crystals:
All crystals are Swarovski unless otherwise specifically noted in the description of the item.
