Do you adore individually hand made lacy knits and crochet as much as I do?

Everything in my shop is individually handmade and designed by me, so you know you are getting a completely unique and one of a kind item. You won't find any of these glorious items on a rack in a large box store. You also value and understand the many hours, days and weeks these items take to create.

Are you are looking for something to make you stand out from the crowd because of your sharp fashion sense? These gloves, shrugs, home décor and bookmarks help define your individuality and you simply do not have the time to make it yourself. You love luxurious natural fibers (such as cotton, silk, angora, Morino wool or alpaca). The feel of fine wool, silk, angora and alpaca wools just can’t be duplicated with synthetics. These fibers are usually more expensive to purchase but are luxurious, breathable, durable, eco-friendly and sustainable.

My expertise in the knitting and crochet arena can be seen in some of my past experience. I was taught by my mother to crochet when I was in grade school many, many years ago. I was fascinated with what glorious lace I could make with thread. She also taught me to knit within a few years. She taught me to throw the thread around the needles which is how her mother taught her. We both learned the continental method of knitting in one of her favorite knit shops. I felt so special to be learning this new method along with her.

I have done spinning demonstrations at “Old Settler’s Day”, and other historical re-enactment events, to help others understand how spinning is done and help bring the history of garment making into the present. Over the years I have sold at local craft fairs and consignment shops. Some of my finished pieces have been sold in Kansas art galleries.

As a history buff, I am often struck by the incredible pieces found in museums and antique stores. The patterns I create are just another way of sharing this love of a very old art form with people around the world.

Are you as enthralled with vintage and unusual 3-dimsional crochet patterns as I am? My thread crochet items are made from 100% cotton thread. My knits are either homespun by me using merino wool (an extremely soft wool) and angora bunny wool (by brushing the rabbit). Or made from some of the finest and softest knitting wool I can find in my local yarn shop, (such as alpaca and silk).

If you, also, value one of a kind luxury décor, bookmarks, and accessories and have the time to create these yourself, I offer knit and crochet patterns in PDF pattern format that can be printed off to take with you.

I have had so many kind reviews on my patterns including: Debbie Sonberg wrote "Lois's designs are beautiful and unique. She designed a columbine necklace that I made for my grandmother. I was so pleased with the pattern."

*All of my patterns have been tested by 2 or 3 different individuals to find mistakes and help to make them easier for you to understand the pattern. If you still have questions, I am available via the e-mail address on each pattern.

The knitted patterns have both written instructions and charts to follow and can be found here:

The crochet patterns include picture tutorials on techniques that might be new to you and can be found here:

Contact information is on each pattern if you have any problems or you just want to show me how beautiful it looks. I would love to share your finished masterpiece on my pinterest or blog site.

I have also bundled some the patterns to make buying more than one pattern at a time more affordable for you. Please contact me at my shop if you would like another set of patterns sold as a set and I will set a up listing just for you. They can be found here:

These patterns are protected by copyright. Please do not rewrite, redistribute or resell these patterns in any form. You may use the patterns to make as many items as you would like for personal use, as gifts, or for charity. You may sale the finished product at local fairs but please refrain from selling on-line. I would appreciate it if you would let others know where they can purchase the pattern if they are interested.

As I watched so many jobs go overseas and frequent layoffs in various industries, I realized that making our own jobs was the only way to guarantee that our income would continue. By buying from local stores, you become a part of the solution to our country's economy. With the encouragement of my husband and friends, I began selling my original patterns and handmade items on Etsy.

Enjoy the individually made knit or crochet heirloom quality home décor and apparel in my shop. Or make a keepsake, from one of my patterns, to become a memory to pass down to your next generation..

Care instructions

If you are purchasing one of a kind hand knits using luxury wools like Merino wool, silk, angora etc., extra care needs to be taken in washing. As with all fine garments the item should be hand washed in cold water with a mild soap. Squeeze excess water out in a towel without wringing or scrubbing. Lay flat to dry.
