About

Where it began....

I was born with art in my heart... and rocks in my pockets. I come by it naturally you see, always stashing away pockets full of "pretty rocks" from the time of being a small girl. You see, I was a bit more of a tomboy, rather climbing hillsides, looking for colourful stones, than playing with dolls.

As a young girl, my first jewellery venture began well over 20 years ago, selling copper wire wrapped quartz crystals on beaded chains, in a consignment shop in Calgary....

From there.... I made big strides. Taking courses in Silversmithing at the Taos Institute of Art, followed by a 2 year apprenticeship with a renowned goldsmith, teacher, and entrepreneur of the field.

All the while developing my eye for what works, what pleases, and gaining the skills and know-how in the real world to put the things together, in a way that not only made sense, but to hand craft with as much integrity and attention to creating things to be as well made as possible.

Somewhere between then and now, I attended the well known and respected Revere Academy of Jewellery Arts, and gained a Bench Technician Diploma.

Which leads me to now. Still learning. Still exploring. Still striving to create each thing new, interesting and as well made as possible.

I have a passion for stones, and cut my own when I can. And I love the luster of Sterling silver, though I have the ability and tools to work on many other metals.

.... thanks for joining me on this journey. I'm just a gal, with a torch, some hammers, and the strong desire to create the greatest things. I hope you'll love having them in your collections, as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

Additional policies and FAQs
Ring sizing on the fly:
If you find yourself with no ability to have you finger sized or your rings sized, this chart will give you a reasonably accurate way to figure it out. Though, having said that, I tale no responsibility for sizing chosen this way - it does not replace a good sizer, found in any jewelry shop, and probably anywhere that sells rings of any kind. The thing with this is accuracy. If you print this chart, follow the printing instructions, as the sizing depends on it printing properly. Having said that, any ring can be translated if you send me the inner ring diameter, measured in millimeter, as accurately as possible, like show on the top portion of the sheet, but using a ruler!

http://www.crucible.org/ring_sizes.htm

Sizing of Wide band Rings (choosing):
A wide band ( and the wider the more so) will "feel"smaller/tighter than a ring of the same size in a thin band.

Proper ring size creating: I "size" my rings to the MIDDLE of the ring band, not the outer edge (as many people do) This , as a result gives the ring a True to Real Size Feel. Generally, I do not find people need any size adjustment. (The outer edge then measures usually about a half size (to full size) bigger, depending on the band width.)

With Wide bands, however, Most people choose to increase their usual ring size a half a ring size when purchasing a ring above 5mm width. For a much wider band, such as 10mm, or 12mm, you may even choose to go up .75 or a full ring size. This really depends on your fit preferences, and your finger shape & length.

THESE ARE RECOMMENDATIONS, AND RULES OF THUMB. Every person is different. In no way do this substitute trying on rings of similar widths, or using a WIDE band ring sizer. Though trying on a similar width ring is best.

I use standard "USA sizing"

Custom orders:
Custom orders are Final sales. 100% payment is required up front, before the project will start - and is non-refundable. Shipping is charged upon completion.

The buyer will be given a time line for completion upon agreement of the project.

Please understand, custom orders are new creations, and will never be exactly like something before. Furthermore, my interpretation of your ideas may be different than you expect. I will do my very best to create a piece we are both happy with, and with our combined vision. As noted, custom orders are a final sale- and I will do my best to fulfill my end of the bargain.

Also note from time to time the price of a custom piece may be higher than quoted, but you will be asked for approval for a higher price, if more work is agreed to be undertaken.
